    Bonus oodle question

There is a bonus oodle question asking "when the Titanic sank, it was the chinses year of the_____?" The Titanic sank April 15,1912, which is the chinese year of the rat. That is not one of the answers. GSN has the correct answer as the year of the pig. Techically, a wrong answer.

I noticed that as well and wanted to report it but forgot. Not quite sure if reporting it would do anything, though. . . . The sources I found listed Chinese years as starting sometime in February with year of the pig ending January of 1912 . . . but, as you mentioned, April 1912 would be the following year . . . so, yeah . . . lol I wonder who confirms the answers. . . .

I haven't seen any postings on the spring swap it trivia question, they asked what was not an icon on the game, the answer was ice cream, but there is an ice cream on the third level. Did I read the question incorrectly?

I clicked on this thread thinking it would be about that Spring SwapIt question. LOL. That was definitely an incorrect answer. There are chocolate ice cream cones on the third level (like you said)... it even says "Loading Ice Cream" as one of the items at the beginning!

I sent an email to help@gsn.com and explained, and they credited me for the oodles. Yay!

This happens too often today was the question "what are the leather strips tied to the wings of a hawk called" none of the answers are correct, in the age of "Google Everything" you would think that GSN would get these things right.

This is what I found by googling "strip of leather for tying up the wings of a hawk".Glossary of terms commonly used in falconry.@www.fallinghawks.com brail - A long strip of leather used to restrain one wing of a newly captured raptor, to prevent it from bating. Not used in modern falconry.
I did have to scan several other results before picking this one (guess I got lucky) but Brail was correct. As for the swap it ? there was another post and GSN Angel has been very quiet about it...if they make a mistake they should admit it and give anyone who answered credit. We should not all have to email them individually.

They are usually very good at doing that... but I agree with momcjf that they should credit people without having to write them.. although I don't really see how they could do this. Many people answer questions wrong when there isn't a mistake so how could they know that you KNEW that the question was wrong? LOL. You see what I mean... but also, I don't know if they could know that you even TRIED to answer a question on any given day or time. Not sure... but it would be nice. However, like I said, they are really good at crediting you with only one letter to them so it's not that bad.

Plus, I really appreciate that the Oodles Bonus Trivia Questions are available at all. I don't know if you know this, but they were going to be eliminated and GSN Angel and some other employees took it upon themselves to donate their time and get together and create the questions for us (and have those fun contests for US to create them too) so they could continue. Now *that's* dedication!

The Simpson's live in Oregon, it is 12:20pm eastern time....not sure why they post the wrong times.

You can change your time so it reads correctly for your time zone. Go to the "Quick Links" tab above (on the blue bar) and then go to "General Settings" and I believe that is where you can change it (and alter many other default settings too). I think GSN has the message times defaulted for Greenwich Mean Time.

I posted this answer on the other thread that someone started about the Oodles Bonus Trivia. The creator of "The Simpsons", Matt Groening, just announced this information recently. They have never disclosed the location of Springfield before.

    yes, what she said!

I also posted on the other thread- it seams that Groening did not Exactly say that...then he said he was misinterpreted...then the show disputes it...so in any case it was a risky bonus question with all the recent angst over wrong answers lol.

Yeah... I just read that Groening says that they are NOT in Oregon. Just that the town "Springfield" was INSPIRED by Springfield, Oregon. They have Bart writing on the chalkboard (like he does in each episode's opening): "THE TRUE LOCATION OF SPRINGFIELD IS IN ANY STATE BUT YOURS"
