Different eps. of $25K Pyramid coming?

PDF schedules are updated through the middle of May at Casey's blog. Check the PDF for the week of May 7th, and view the episode # slot for the $25K Pyramid airings (all of them). It just says the word "new" and no celebs are listed. Perhaps I'm reading too far into this...

I think it seems very likely, otherwise they would have put the episode number with the celebs like they normally do. Sounds to me like they've leased a new season (or are in the process of it) and aren't really sure what episodes will be airing yet.

Yeah, that seems like a plausible explanation. Don't want to get my hopes up too high, though.

On another note, it looks like O'Hurley Feud will be cycling back to 2005 on Monday nights. So I guess they still haven't picked up his last season.

Hoping this is true. I just got GSN back and it'd be really fun to have some fresh episodes of my #1 favorite game show to look forward to. I never had GSN when they showed 1982-83, and 1987-88, so anything outside of the current lease along with the others not yet aired by them would be a nice experience to see.

Not to mention, it's been 3 years since they've first aired this latest 1985-86 season of $25k... isn't that about the normal time frame that GSN has the rights to air something from the Sony vaults?

We're due for a new $25,000 Pyramid lease, and if these episodes numbers don't look familiar or are not from the current season, then it could be a different season. But as I said with the P+ and SP lease, don't get your hopes up (even though I was wrong)

I'm with Chameleonwhammy; don't get excited. It's probably just a typo. They probably wish they could rerun this current season until 2057 if they were allowed to.

Usually the PDF's are right about episode numbers, but I think something got mixed up. Mark my words, it WILL be the regular 1985-1986 season. If I'm wrong, then I will happily watch new episodes

I agree with Xibit765, that they would have just listed the Celebs and the episode number if they were just going to continue with the same episodes. They wouldn't have put "New" in the episode number space. BTW, Friday night Pyramid marathon also lists New. So, I think starting May 7th, a new season will start airing. Also, check this out:

For the week of April 30th, I noticed they are airing episodes #967-971 in the daytime and night slot. And for the Friday night marathon, they air #972-977. I believe these are the last episodes in the package they have the rights to at this time. Also, look at the week right before, April 23, in daytime they are airing episodes 839-843, notice the big jump in the episode numbers the following week April 30th, that I put above.

Well, if it is true, then that is good news. And I think it will happen. I'm thinking maybe they wanted to start airing different 25k Pyramid episodes starting April 2, when they made the schedule change, but maybe they had to get the episode information sorted out and it took longer then they expected. Just a theory. Yes, the PDF's can and do change at any time, but maybe once we get closer to May 7th, an updated PDF will come out showing the episode numbers.

I just saw the pdf's, and it seems weird for GSN to just do this. Maybe this is a sneak preview of what's to come, which would be new $25,000 Pyramid episodes. GSN is probably seeing how well $25,000 Pyramid is doing at 10:30am and figured they should acquire new episodes. I find it weird how there are no episode numbers listed. There is also a possibility that GSN doesn't know what season they are acquiring yet, but are going to have a new season

If it's episodes under the name "The NEW $25,000 Pyramid", it's possible it may be the 1983-1984 season. I remember seeing an episode from May 1984 on YT and it was branded as "The New $25,000 Pyramid" at that point.

But I will believe it when I see it.
