I think we might be jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly here. I mean according to the updated PDFs for this week and the GSN online schedule, Dick's $25,000 Pyramid is still airing this Friday night, so obviously it is not a goner as of yet. Also, Casey is stating that Alex received an e-mail directly from GSN explicitly stating that Donnymid was only a one-week thing. Things can change, and I am prepared for the worst, but I think maybe at this point it is possible that the Donnymid is only a one-week thing for now, even though it seems sort of strange.

My theory (and this is entire speculation) is that GSN is in the final stages of wrapping up the acquisition/conversion of new episodes of the $25,000 Pyramid, and for whatever reason maybe things won't be finalized by this Monday, and so they have to put Donnymid in the 10:30 AM and 3:00 AM slots just as a placeholder until things are finalized with the new $25,000 Pyramid episodes. Perhaps GSN thinks that by Friday evening things will all be worked out and so they can go forth with their usual Friday night schedule.

All we can do is see what happens over the next couple days, see if any updated PDF schedules come out and look at the online schedule this Tuesday, because by this point it will have rolled around for Monday May 14th. I am cautiously optimistic that $25K Pyramid is here to stay, but we'll have to wait and see.

Why would they use something that hasn't been on the regular schedule for a few years as a placeholder. I'm convinced $25K is a goner. The Friday night numbers stink worse than my septic tank. It does well in daytime, and that's it.

As I said, this is a welcome change, and I welcome it with open arms.

Perhaps because it is still a version of Pyramid and would be the most logic placeholder for Clark's $25,000 Pyramid. Why use something like Match Game as a placeholder for $25,000 Pyramid when you could use Donnymid which is the program most similar to the one that it is holding the place of.

Maybe you're right, perhaps $25,000 Pyramid is a goner, and maybe the recent poor Friday night ratings for the show have caused GSN to reevaluate its decision to acquire new episodes of the show, but I still think it's too early to jump to conclusions; remember that the show is still scheduled to air this Friday night and GSN has said themselves in their own e-mail to Alex that the Donnymid thing is only for a week. The only way I see Clark's $25,000 Pyramid disappearing altogether is if GSN changes their mind in the next week (I understand that this is possible), because at this point there is no clear indication that they have any intentions to drop the show at this point. If they wanted to drop the show altogether, they wouldn't be airing it this Friday night; if the schedule changes between now and Friday, and the Friday block of $25K Pyramid gets replaced with something else, then I would say that it may be possible to announce its demise.

I don't think the Clark Pyramids are going away forever unless the ratings for all the airings suck. If for no other reason, he just died. And call me crazy, I don't think Osmonds show is going to rake in the viewers.

100% agree. I can't add anything else to make more of a point.

Interesting to see Pyramid back on the schedule. I wonder if the episodes that will air will feature Dick Clark as special guest? Would be an interesting "placeholder".
In GSN terms, placeholder means last minute schedule change that will become permanent.

I'm sure there will be outrage that will catch somebody's attention after readings blogs or forums that GSN removes Clark after this death and gives GSN a black eye. And by this, they might backtrack on this decision.

The other theory sounds logical enough...see if Donnymid does well enough in the slots and if so, that'll be what stays. And dare I say it...might ALSO have something to do with GSN's upcoming Pyramid revival. Hope they're not putting these out there to judge just how much "tweaking" of the game they can get away with on the new shows.

And don't forget the $100,000 tournament where we just might not even give away the $100,000

No, some places just aren't hooked up to city sewage. They have septic tanks that have to be pumped out I think every 5-10 years, maybe more. I used to live in an area of Jacksonville that wasn't even hooked up to city water at all. We had well water but FYI, it came out of sink spigots like everyone else. We didn't have to pump it out with a hand crank and put it in a bucket in the back yard

As for the placeholder thing and keeping stuff for only a small amount of time... it isn't impossible. I mean this is the same network that randomly put Love Connection back on their schedule for all of 2 weeks before pulling it again. Not to mention this news came from a reliable source. I'd say it's legit.

oh this bugged the crap out of me! Their tournament structure was a mess. Why not just play the tournament until someone wins?

They were indeed Season 1 eps. I found them out on a trader's collection site, he has listed several Osmond Pyramid eps.

He also listed the eps. in taping order, which confirms that the celebs would only tape 2 or 3 eps. a day, and the eps. were aired out of order during the original syndie run, which also explains why this version did not have returning champions as well.

Thank you for backing me up there

I will admit that there are sometimes I've been wrong. Some situations where I'd like to be wrong. Maybe that look of dismay she gave me was to someone else and then she walked out..... (OK enough of my personal problems), but I'd love to see Clark's version stick around, but I've got a bad gut feeling it's a goner. If new episodes of $25K come and start airing weekday mornings starting May 14th, great, I'll watch. If they dump it, no big deal.

Wow. The fact that they're airing from a random middle spot in the first season and not starting from scratch (like Pax, GSN did air the show in taping order; and the first show was skipped last time it was on the regular schedule, so they started with the second taped show with Kerr Smith and Julia Sweeney) really makes me think they are going to use this as a temporary hold. I mean, it'd be one thing if they started from the beginning of season 1 or the beginning of season 2. Not to mention this was a relatively short-lived show unlike the older classics they lease from various eras, like Clark Pyramid, WoF, and J!.

Otherwise it really doesn't make any sense to start from that point.

Really? Besides Friday nights, The $25,000 Pyramid and The $100,000 Pyramid has done well all over the boards. The 10:30am slot has been performing very well lately. I hope GSN doesn't throw away another one of their highly rated classics.

GSN could also be doing this just to push Friday night ratings higher by limiting the other slots
