**Also notice on the pdf's for May 7-13 that it still says $25,000 Pyramid is "NEW" on Friday night from 7-11pm. There could still be a new lease of episodes but GSN could not want to show them at 10:30am

I agree with you, CW. Even though Buzzerblog announced GSN airing Donny Osmond's Pyramid for a week, I think they have picked up a full lease of Donny's Pyramid this time. I agree that The $25,000 Pyramid is likely gone as of today. Dick Clark must be rolling in his grave for sure.

I do remember GSN picking up both seasons of Donny Osmond's Pyramid back in 2008. If I recall, they aired one season's episodes in one time slot, and the other season in another time slot. If GSN did indeed pick up both seasons, we may likely see one season of Donny's Pyramid on weekdays/weeknights, and the other season's episodes on Friday nights. It does make sense, doesn't it?

Good move, GSN, for finally picking up more Press Your Luck and $ale of the Century!

So, what episode of Donny's Pyramid did they air today? Did they air a random episode from midway in the run, or did they air the series premiere or Season 2 premiere?

Apparently in the middle of Season 1.

And 25K is still on Fridays according to the online schedule .

We still have Friday nights for $25,000 Pyramid to be on the schedule. Right now, this is a one week only thing. But, we will have to see what happens when the online schedule scrolls over, but even at times that needs to be updated when something is a week away

We're in the beginning of season 1, but not at the exact first episode.

For what it's worth, the GSN online schedule is now showing that $25K Pyramid will return to both its slots on Monday May 14th. Of course, knowing GSN, anything is subject to change.

Nice move, bad scheduling. I agree that they need to air this in the DOND slot, and one in primetime, instead of putting it in Dick's timeslots. Does anyone else think that there could have been some legal reason, given that this change happened so soon after Mr. Clark's passing? You have to wonder....

GSN is so random with their scheduling (the "Bowl of Pasta" theory of scheduling; throw stuff against the wall and see what sticks) that they don't have, need, or want a reason to switch things up. If the PDF for May 14th is true, and 25k returns to its normal slots, then who knows. Donny might very well be a placemat until they finalize it. It just seems odd that they don't simply use up their current lease until Friday.

This is more along the lines of what I think. Basically they just seem to not know what they are doing with things.

I can only guess that their previous lease expired, but the "new" episodes weren't ready on time? Considering that they left a big chunk of the $25K run unaired even when they seemingly had more access to the Sony library, maybe the episodes they're going to get needed to be converted to Digibeta, and weren't ready on time?

Maybe there's hope for 82-83...it sure would be nice if they would air that!

If I'm not mistaken, the 82-83 episodes should already be converted to Digibeta, since they showed these about 10 years ago. Anything from September 1983-August 1985 and late June 1986-November 1987 would likely need to be converted.

Yeah, I think this is the most likely case. I agree with you that back when the network had more older shows on the schedule, they really didn't air 25k Pyramid on a regular basis. It is interesting because they were willing to air other short lived shows, like Trebek Double Dare, Monty Hall Beat The Clock, but not 25k Pyramid. And perhaps one of the reasons was because they only had a few seasons converted, while 100k Pyramid already had been fully converted, so this was the version they aired on the regular schedule.

This also makes me wonder what else they have in their library that still is not converted to Digibeta? I really don't know why they didn't just convert the entire run of 25k years ago, but maybe they saved it for a time period like this where there aren't as many older shows on the schedule, so it feels kinda "fresh". Who knows.

FWIW, the Directv guide data has been updated and it is reflecting what GSN's wheel of programming has stated. Pyramid is listed in the morning slots for this week, $25,000 Pyramid for Friday night and beginning again on Monday. Of course all of this is subject to change when it spins again.

You'd have to take that up with Sony directly or with Fremantle. I'm pretty sure since they own it that's their responsibilities, not GSN. If GSN did it it could technically be copyright infringement.
