Because that's how the arrangement works these days...the shows aren't pro-bono even if it's just the office across the hall anymore.
Assuming they did pull out a year's worth (or well, 200) of episodes they haven't before...which would be yr 2 (83-84), 3 (84-85), and 5 (86-87), any preference as to which you'd want?
Well, GSN has shown year 2 of the $25,000 Pyramid during the green ball era years but they've only shown the first 6 episodes of that year #(ryan22184 you may've forgotten that the Super Bowl marathon aired on January 31, 1999), there was a Michael J. Fox marathon that GSN aired years ago and both weeks were with him and Denise Miller(the weeks of July 11-15, and December 5-9, 1983) so there were 9 episodes in total of year 2 that GSN showed, 10 if you counted the October 17-21, 1983 week of episodes shown in promos only.
As long as GSN gets a new season, that's all I care about. GSN has had this season cycle through the schedule for 5 times now.
Anything outside of what's airing now would work just fine for me. Even if 1982-83 and 87-88 have been aired before, that was, what, 10 years ago? They've had a pretty good rest since then.

I'm not complaining at all about the possibility of a new $25,000 Pyramid lease, but I'd rather see a new Match Game lease. Maybe because they've been repeated more than 25K Pyramid, and Match Game 74 is more stale. 25K Pyramid will do better in morning ratings than Match Game I'll say
I would much rather had some early "New $25,000 Pyramid" episodes as I have not seen them since the USA airings.
They've been on GSN in the past five years, but anything is welcome back now.I would much rather had some early "New $25,000 Pyramid" episodes as I have not seen them since the USA airings.
The episodes from July 1986-October 1987 haven't been seen since the USA airings either.
But at this point, I'm not going to be picky. Any different season would be a real treat right now, and considering the news of the passing of Mr. Clark, the potential arrival of new eps. to the network is quite timely, IMO.
This could mean something big for GSN. When GSN acquired Super Password and Password Plus, the news also came that GSN will be adding 5 new reality shows to the schedule in the future (and producing them). What could GSN break out now? It's just my theory
I'm surprised that Clark himself never appeared on GSN while he was alive. Pyramid should be a staple of the network..GSN has never really promoted it as heavily as they should. They don't think people care, I guess. New eps would mean I'd probably watch again..
