Sorry, typo. The post meant to say

Which wasn't added until the second season I believe?

of course the Big Bank was never in the 1st season of Whammy! but the Gem Car was where you have to get the first half of the key in round 1,then you need to get the 2nd half of the key in round 3, then you need to win the game and drive off with it...but let's face it nobody in the first season of Whammy! has attempted that feet!

also Lingofan97, i think that Whammy! is more of a spin-off than a revival of Press Your Luck IMO!

It's hard to decide. Some stuff whammy had that Press Your Luck didn't, and vice versa

The gem card sounds very familiar to what Wheel of Fortune does with the KIA cards.

I don't even recall the "Gem Car." And if Whammy attempted that "feet," then it must have been Fred Flintstone's car. LOL

Yeah Melyssa56, as i recall the "Gem Car" was a small compact yellow car. (it was basically like a "Smart Car")

the correct response is half KIA "tags"...not half KIA "cards".

They were only shown in the first season, and in the dozens of episodes I've never seen anyone win it.

Thanks for the info, Doug. There's one that parks at my workplace and I can see it from my window cube. Maybe that was the one.

That describes anything in revivals of game shows. Take Lingo for example. The game play and the whole "$100,000" were much more exciting than the old game play. But, Woolery was a better host. And on the old Lingo the ideas of reaching down to get the Lingo balls was better then getting them on a rack.

PYL beats Whammy IMO. The contestants were classier (except Karen who told the Whammy to drop dead). The Whammies weren't the 3D crap and there were no dumb Double Whammy where crap gets thrown on you.
The prizes were better and the host was better than Mr. Game Shows on DVD.
I would have to say that Whammy is my favorite of the Press Your Luck remakes because it had awesome prizes and players were fun and silly and the Double Whammy was the coolest invention for game shows and really brought a whole new vibe to Press Your Luck. That contestant from Press Your Luck that you mentioned named Karen is she the contestant that had the nickname The Mighty Karen? Because I remember seeing her episode on Youtube on my mother's phone,
    Vinnie
