I just heard about this. I am very very sad about this, as Dick Clark was one of my favorites. He was the best. I'm sure everyone would agree.

    R.I.P Dick Clark

RIP to the master of the game himself. He handled one of the most suspenseful game shows ever with the most class and finesse.

Playmaniac001, what a thing to say. I met Dick Clark 20 years ago.

R.I.P., Mr. Clark. I will still be recording New Year's Eve countdowns from 11:57 p.m. to about 12:05 a.m., but it just won't be the same without him doing the final minute of the year.

I'm getting ready to hear anyone tell me they're not going to watch the New Year's Eve countdown again. It's a shame. He was actually sounding clearer this year. R.I.P. Mr. Clark.

I know I won't be watching it because now Ryan Seacrap will be doing this full time. Maybe in 50 years, he'll earn my respect.

Upcoming Shows: Iron Maiden, Devore, September 13
    Kamelot, Anaheim, September 21

Ryan Seacrest is not, and never will be, a replacement for Dick Clark. Not sure how this will affect people watching ABC's New Year's Countdown. It is a sad day indeed.

I still remember Clark hosting Winning Lines... those were good times...

The saddest part of all of this, is that with every year that followed since his stroke, he was getting better and better with his speech. I expected him to be around for another decade, at the very least.

Not that this is that important right now but it wouldn't surprise me to see the last minute counted down by him this year by airing maybe a year where he didn't say the outgoing or incoming year or editing the references out and maybe show video of him kissing his wife after midnight. Again, not all that important at the moment but just a thought. I hope someone in the next few days airs a Bandstand marathon too.

It's been reported already. Back to the subject at hand, RIP to the man who got me interested in watching game shows and all of the wonderful music that has come out in the last 50+ years.

Goodbye, Dick. You will be sorely missed.

That is a shocker. Didn't think it would happen this soon.

Mr. Clark is now on that big Bandstand in the sky. He will be missed for sure.

R.I.P., Mr. Clark. New Year's will never be the same without you.

I have a hunch GSN will be doing a weekend tribute marathon of some sorts in the coming weeks. And I wonder if some other network will be airing a marathon of American Bandstand in his memory?

As for Playmaniac's post, that was very low. Very distasteful and the lowest of the low. I'm glad it's been reported - hopefully action is taken soon.
