Are you happy with GSN's current programming direction?

With GSN airing new commercials promoting classic game shows in the morning, along with yet another new commercial explaining that, "GSN welcomes Comedy Legend Steve Harvey" to the network, are you happy with the direction that GSN is taking?

Now, I don't know who at GSN is responsible for these new changes, but didn't they start to happen shortly after Kelly Goode left last year? That was when Amy took over, and we saw the changes begin to take place. Block scheduling and the promotion of non-GSN-produced game shows started coming back ($100,000 Pyramid and Deal or No Deal). Then, about a month ago, we got new promos for Newlywed Game, and now, every week, there seems to be a new promo for Baggage.

Also, in case you've noticed, the new commercials seem to have been toned down to a more traditional style, as opposed to the "rock and roll" style of previous GSN promos (see Bill Engvall's August 2011 Lingo promo).

Dancing with the Stars promos have finally stopped, thank goodness. No more annoyingly-large disco ball appearing the bottom of the TV screen while I watch GSN. And 5th Grader doesn't seem to be getting as much promotion any more either.

I like what's happening. Now we just need GSN to add about 10 more different game shows to add variety to the schedule, and we'll be all set.

Yes, I do like the way GSN is heading right now. I'll probably have more to say about this later once everybody has seen this.

In the most recent days, DWTS has been ditched, Password Plus and Super Password have returned, Harvey's Feud has arrived, and possibly we are very soon about to see new episodes of the $25,000 Pyramid.

So yeah, I am pretty happy with the direction the network is headed as of this moment.

I'm happy with Password Plus, Super Password, possibly a new $25,000 Pyramid season, new episodes of Sherri/Jerry, DWTS ditched, Harvey Feud and 5th Grader acquisitions AND the new promos

I am not happy with the overload of Family Feud, the block scheduling, and the fact that we still have 12 airings a week of the new Lingo

Considering where they were, things are improving. Let's hope they stay that way.

I'm getting a little happier at the direction GSN has turned!

2011 I think I can say was GSN's worse year. This might be a bounce back

I'm happy that the Passwords are back, and that there may be a new run of Pyramid.

However, even though a couple things have happened that are to my liking, I still no that the same old geniuses are running GSN, and desperately want to scrap game shows for reality TV, and that almost all of the new shows they've come up with for next season are reality shows.

So, no, I'm not happy with GSN's current programming direction, because they're only using game shows as filler until their next smrt reality idea comes along.

Personally, the only quibble I have, like I mentioned above, is the variety factor. Other than that, I'm happy with what GSN is doing right now.

I'd like to see some more game shows get added back to the schedule, to help combat the overload of Feud we're currently running into.

Even old GSN originals that may not have performed the best in ratings might help to at least diversify the schedule, by adding them back, if even for a limited time. Talking about 20Q, The Money List, How Much Is Enough, Bingo America, Grand Slam, That's The Question, Russian Roulette, and my all-time favorite Greed.

If GSN brought back those shows, say on weekends they might do well. It would add a great deal of variety, and GSN has direct access to them of course

GSN was very, very low these past few months, so these recent changes have really improved how things look.

The problem is that the future plans to acquire and create new reality programming will most likely put them back into the same rut they were in and are just now starting to climb out of.

Maybe they'll see that Game Shows, new and old, are the way to go, and we'll start to see the viewers return, and the ratings pick up.

Password Plus, Super Password, and Clark Pyramid...YES, and multiple seasons of them please!!!

Match Game reverting again and again (why no other seasons???), Dawson stuck in a lousy time slot, and Card Sharks getting pulled...FAIL.

"Reality" garbage and DWTS...*cue TPIR losing horns*

Harvey Feud was a good move, but they need to cut back on Karn...it's just too much 2000s Feud right now. And too much Dirty Lingo.

We need quality modern acquisitions...things like Wheel, or maybe even Carey TPIR or Brady LMAD (the last two might be wishful thinking, but they would get fantastic ratings), and the G-T library needs to come back.

Removing Card Sharks sucked greatly, but I have a feeling it will be back someday, and with different episodes next time. But bringing back Password Plus and Super Password was a good move on GSN's part. And the possibility of different episodes of $25,000 Pyramid may help spice things up more. Removing DWTS, I do not despise one bit. If only they can pick up different Match Game and Dawson's Feud episodes someday, that would really put GSN on top again.

My grade for GSN in 2011 was a D. Now it's raised to a B-. More good came out of GSN so far this year than the bad.

The only complaint I have is that when you look at the GSN online schedule there are A LOT of airings of Family Feud it looks like. Check it out, especially in the 3-6pm or 6-9pm boxes.
