Who cares if it would do well. GSN would be doing something really nice. As long as they don't spend a lot of money on something like that, I wouldn't care. It should do well probably and I'm sure it could. Who doesn't like Dick Clark?

Nobody. I probably said that I met him 20 years ago.

I know that GSN doesn't have the early Pyramids and they also don't have the rights to Winning Lines.

GSN has done enough, They've done a corporate post, and added more Pyramid slots today, and had the 15 second tribute on commercials. I don't expect GSN to make a big deal out of Dick Clark's death.

The 15-second tribute was a nice touch during the commercial breaks.
Agree that the tribute was tasteful, professional and (importantly) brief. These things can get overdone and maudlin.

And glad to see GSN pick up my suggestion of showing Donny's episodes with Dick Clark playing as a celebrity, though, there was no advance promotion of them, and my TV guide still listed Deal or No Deal at 1 pm.
It was a last-minute decision. The new schedule pdfs with the Donnymid eps on Saturday didn't go out to the mailing list until Friday, April 20. There was little time for people to update program schedules. I barely had time to update the blog.

GSN should keep airing Donny's Pyramid at the 1pm hour in the future on weekends. There would be no rerun abuse at all. Whatever episodes they have, as long as its more than two dozen or so then they should come back the the regular schedule

I know but, I was just saying. Even a day filled with $25,000 Pyramid would be good. I'm not taking it for granted, and this wouldn't be making a big deal, really. A nice documentary special would be a good way to go. Maybe a full day with $25,000 Pyramid leading to the documentary.

I was just suggesting. It's no big deal.

For what it's worth, Entertainment Tonight Weekend devoted the entire hour to Dick Clark interviews (including a brief clip of one from 1999 mentioning Greed), Bandstand clips, and celebs being interviewed about his death.

Also TV Guide Network aired a half-hour retrospective. I'll have to catch a repeat since it was on at the same time as ET Weekend here.

GSN could have done that today (Saturday 4/21), but then again it's the first Saturday of their new schedule. What GSN could have done is air $25,000 Pyramid from 9am-1pm, Dick's appearance on Donny's Pyramid at 1 & 1:30pm, and then bringing back $100,000 Pyramid from 2-6pm. But, I don't think GSN would have come up with a documentary that quickly

It wouldn't have to be a quick one. As long as there was some documentary, that's all that counts but it wouldn't have to be a quick one. By the way, good ideas of what GSN could have done above.

GSN should bring back Greed. It was executive-produced by Dick Clark. And if GSN could somehow, anyhow, get the rights to Winning Lines, that would be fantastic!

Thanks. I just think classics on weekends could do well. I mix of Super Password and Password Plus on Saturday nights from 6-11pm instead of Family Feud would be good, since we already have 2 night of Family Feud. Dumping the block scheduling would be good too
