A much needed lease. At the beginning of 2012 with the Dancing with the Stars acquisition and originals on hold, I didn't think GSN was going to get a new lease of anything with classics this year. The whole Super Password/Password Plus lease was amazing, and a new season of $25,000 Pyramid will be better.

I would love to see some more of Donny's Pyramid, I really would but it didn't need to be repeated on the weekends.

Oops. The beginning was cut off when they were showing the fee plugs uncrunched for $25,000 Pyramid.

It's like GSN's rerun abuse with Harvey Feud, and the fact that they have same night episode runs. They should change that eventually and still have 6 new episodes from 8-11pm, and previous weeks episodes at 7 and 7:30pm, and a different cycle of episodes at 11 and 11:30pm

That, plus Tic Tac Dough and 2004-05 Jeopardy! - all didn't get rerun overkill treatment.

GSN should lease a season or two of Tic Tac Dough. That was another good series GSN had a few years ago but yanked off

And there was a reason Tic Tac Dough got yanked. The numbers were really bad. Only the McVeigh eps got over 100K viewers, and just barely.

It also aired at a fairly early time I remember, before 10am. But now in the 8am and 9am hours classics are doing significantly better than a year ago. There was a time where Match Game in the 8am hour would only get 60,000 viewers. Now, the 8am hour averages 130-180K. The 9am does worse than it should since the Dawson episodes have been worn down, and Karn doesn't belong at 9:30am. If they got a new season of Dawson and Perry's Card Sharks in the 9am hours, ratings would increase.

I said the same thing, but I still don't remember who hosted Tic Tac Dough (or at least the version GSN aired)

I think that shows like Blockbusters and TicTacDough could probably work pretty well now. Maybe 1 episode of each per day, just enough to satisfy the regular viewer's taste for a variety of different game shows.

I'm not saying that they'll blow away the ratings with 500k+, but I can see the upper 100's mid 200's depending on what the lead-in/out is. It's not a huge number that I'm expecting, but it certainly can't be lower than what some early morning slots have received due to rerun abuse.

But in reality, if they were to just acquire a new season of Match Game and Dawson Feud, the ratings will almost certainly pick up.

    Wink Martindale. Pretty easy answer.

    The quintessential game show host!

Only Bill Cullen hosted more shows than him. And shows like Sesame Street even mimicked Wink's hosting style!

Match Game at 11:30am and a Dawson Feud slot in the noon hour would pull storing ratings (if GSN allows classics past noon). Then, those two shows can get close to 300K numbers, especially Match Game since there are a lot of Match Game fans here that would like to see a new season. Tic Tac Dough and Blockbusters could enter any slot between 9am-2pm and gets the usual classic 150-225K views, which would be great but not as impressive as Card Sharks, $25,000 Pyramid and a new season of Match Game.

And we all know by now that Bill did more shows than anybody else did. I didn't know that Wink was on Sesame Street.
