Because Wink was more well-known then Bill Cullen ever was

He probably means Thom Mc Kee.

But he didn't host Tic Tac Dough (or at least the eps GSN showed)

You're right. Got the name mixed up. But I doubt you'll see Tic Tac Dough any time soon. GSN can and does get better numbers with Match Game, Dawson Feud, etc. Even some classics fans aren't big fans of TTD.

If TTD had pulled big or even somewhat acceptable numbers, GSN would have kept it around. But as Douglas Pucci pointed out on the old Mediaweek board, TTD got bad numbers even compared to other old shows. The non-McKee eps didn't get to 100K.

    K.
I also remember Tic Tac Dough aired at an early time. If it was tested later it could reach the 200K mark, and not that classics are doing better in numbers than a few years ago before noon it is possible

TTD had two time slots in its time on GSN recently. Neither the really early time it ended with nor the later time it started with had decent ratings. I think it was 11:30AM to start with, then 9:30AM.

For my 2,000th post I will say this....

9:30am is semi-early, and 11:30am is considered the death hour. But it's not one of my favorite classics, so I wouldn't make a big deal if GSN brought it back or not
