Judging by what the Junket said, this sounds educational/intelligent. I'm all for intelligent shows but, it must be for the general audience. Not all of the viewing audience knows religion.

This game show sounds like an interesting one. I'll try it out. Sounds like a decent show finally.

wouldn't it make sense if the show was put it on Sunday nights at 8
also i put this article in the GSN Originals section if you want to take a look at it.
My only issue is the extremely specialized nature of the quizzer. Will people who don't have much interest in religion or the Bible bother with the show? Oh well, it may be a good fit for GSN's audience. This game show sounds like an interesting one. I'll try it out. Sounds like a decent show finally.
Crossposted some of the comments to the blog with a screenshot of Jeff Foxworthy from the "coming this fall" web page.
The $250,000 is probably rare to win, but GSN can probably still afford it.
The general audience will hopefully not be people who like religion only. Then, the show would bomb since not too much of the population is OBSESSED with religion.
The pilot could do well there, with 5th Grader as a lead in and Family Feud as a lead out (or vice versa). That would be a better time to schedule it, but in the future it will probably be in a half-hour block five nights a week if its a success.
It will be a game show, so it should appeal to a those viewers.
It will be a religion based show, and there are quite a few people passionate about their religion.
This show hasn't even been created yet, and it already has two things going for it that Dancing and Improv didn't.
A quizzer about religion though will most likely never pull in any huge ratings. So I hope they're not intending on this show to hit the 500k viewer mark as some acquisitions have in the past. (DoND, Feud, etc...)
And avoiding rerun abuse would be key. They will not be able to get away with repeating the same 13 episodes every few weeks.
So the budget can't be too high, the number of episodes will have to be enough, and the sponsors will have to pay up to make this show worthwhile.
It's possible.

Also you know how GSN advertised Dancing with the Stars on their network in magazines. Are there any really big religious based magazines that GSN could advertise in. They ad for a whole page wouldn't be as expensive as other major magazines.
You make great points, especially about the rerun abuse. GSN can't (or won't) avoid trying to stuff shows down people's throats, so that's a big fear of mine.
As for the budget; I don't see them going any bigger than $100k as a top prize, which would still be great for a GSN show. So as long as they don't get extravagant with the set, they should be fine.
