I don't think a new season of Dawson would change things. He's been getting consistently underwhelming ratings ever since they put him at 9 AM, and he's had less rerun abuse than the other classics they showed in the last two years (other than P+/SP). Again, they should have dumped Dawson and kept Perry instead.

I agree that Card Sharks was doing well, and GSN should have kept it on the schedule. Other then the current schedule, I believe the only other times Card Sharks was off the schedule was from late March 2009-April 2010, and the 1997-98 dark period schedules (correct me if I am wrong). Other then that, I think there has always been at least one version of Card Sharks on, even if it was only on weekends like in 2004.

I have a feeling that Dawson won't be disappearing at any point unless GSN drops the Goodson/Todman stuff. Since day one GSN has aired his versions of the show, and like Match Game, it's too well-known to not be scheduled.

If a new season of Dawson were aired at a later time in the morning, we would occasionally see 300K ratings for the new episodes.

A Classic block on Friday nights has to be kept. What else would they put there? More Family Feud?

The $25,000 Pyramid episodes have been rerun abused, and they're repeating them twice in the same block, so the drop in ratings is understandable.

Bringing back Card Sharks would be a good idea to help pick up some of the lackluster ratings (I know they just removed it, but I don't think any of us asked them to have this show removed). And perhaps move Dawson to Friday Nights mixed with other Classics to make a night of Classics. That way viewers won't need to get sick of a particular show, and viewers with different tastes will enjoy their own favourite show.

If 25k Pyramid falters this week and the following week, GSN should consider putting WWTBAM on Friday nights. 217k for its lone spot on the schedule late night Sunday at 2am is very good.

I'm surprised at 5th Grader's #3 and #14 ranks considering they were the EXACT same episode 3 hours apart!
IIRC, Harvey on Wednesdays is 7-10 and then repeats 10-12. If that's the case then, #9 and #11 are a real head-scratcher. People either have no attention span or was there something worth re-watching 3 hours later?

Not counting 7m slots (which M-F often seem to be tough for any show), I can't imagine that scheduling only 6 episodes of PYRAMID among 10 slots exactly helps ratings. Between people getting used to that sort of cycle and those that might otherwise watch the whole 5 hours, it's going to lose some potential viewers.

That said, more factors may be contributing to this (or not), but that sort of scheduling isn't going to help.

Mystic, you mean from 11:00pm to 12:00am. How about Press Your Luck and Whammy from 12:00 to 1:00 or should it be from 6:00 to 7:00?

I still think Clark's Pyramid would deserve a spot somewhere in that five hour gap, especially with a potential new lease of episodes coming up

Dawson Feud and Match Game died on Friday night when GSN tried them. The 25K Pyramid block on Friday is getting cut back already (along with all the other nighttime blocks) for Harvey Feud at 11:00PM. Check the pdfs on the blog.
