The Pirates were doing fine last year until Jerry Meals (an appropriate name for the 300-pound blubber bellies that call themselves umpires) decided to call it a night in the 19th inning of a game in Hot-lanta, ruling one of the Braves safe at the plate, so Meals could go have a plate or fifty. This year, the Bucs are on their own after July 4th, with no more games against the Phillies aftewards.

^ That was in 2011. The Pirates just simply did a crash and burn last year.

Oh, that's right. Thanks for the rectification.

With Ruin Tomorrow Jr. as Phillies' GM, it seems like one long year for us Phillies' fans -- or as Al Bundy, so aptly put it, one long month -- "Helluary."

    Is Greinke really a jerk?

Second time this year he is involved in a brawl. At least he didn't hurt himself this time....

Well, the Pirates are 40-27 right now. Almost halfway to ridding themselves of a huge demon that's plagued them since, well, since the entire league has turned over in players. Yes, folks, none of the current players on MLB rosters were in the majors when the Bucs last had a winning season.

I'm probably going to wait until I see 70 wins before I start gauging whether to declare them a candidate for a winning season. (Last year's 16-36 choke essentially ended that fun streak, bleh.)

Shame that they have the best 2 teams in MLB right now in the division (StL and CIN) with them.
