Book of the Week Descriptions

Hi,

I was wondering why GSN doesn't show the book descriptions on the Book of the Week. I mean, does GSN think we're stupid we'll just buy a book when we don't know what the description is or do they think we should just look it up.

I don't usually buy Book of the Week's but, I would like to maybe order a new book from GSN if I know what the description is and if it sounds interesting and decent.

I mean, GSN used to post on the forum "This Week in Oodles Highlights" or something like that. I feel we should know book descriptions.

Phimat, I wrote to help@gsn.com and asked who the author was on a particular book, they gave me the info, and so I passed up the buying of it. There were several book titles of that name written by several different authors. I already had the book that I thought about buying, so I passed.

But, you are right, they never do. They give the title, but they won't tell you the author are a general description. So, I rarely buy the books.

Maybe if enough of us write in, they might start doing that. It takes more work hours answering our questions and complaints than it would take to give a description of the book.

GSN doesn't think anyone's "stupid" and they don't expect people to buy books with Oodles. They offer them for those who want them.

They list the title and author. It's easy enough to look it up on Amazon, plus read the ratings, which is something many people prefer to do before buying a book. The same goes for movies. With IMDb and Amazon, you'll get much better descriptions than anything GSN can write.

I agree with Angel about the description.... they DO give the author's name when you click on the Book of the Week and I go and find out about it.

HOWEVER.... I wish they would be more descriptive about which VERSION they are offering. For books, I know because I've gotten many of them, that they will be the Mass-Market paper-back edition (they are larger than the usual paperbacks we are used to...you know like bricks....these are not those.) But especially for the DVDs and Blu-rays. There are soooo many different versions offered nowadays.... Anniversary editions, wide-screen editions, etc. It would be nice to know which specific version you are buying.
