    Celebrity Births: Why No Interest?

I've seen numerous threads related to the death of a celebrity, but very, very rarely do I see a thread about a celebrity giving birth to a baby.

Ever since 2005, there have been only a small number of celebrity birth announcement threads. Such examples included Britney Spears with her first child, Angelina Jolie with her child born in 2006, and Mariah Carey giving birth to twins. Two of those threads were created by me, but one such thread, the birth of Britney's first child in September 2005, that thread was originally intended to be a congratulatory thread, and ever since the first reply was made, I was shocked to see that the thread had instantly turned into a Britney-bashing thread. I was so shocked about the replies, I was afraid to post a thread about her second child being born in September 2006 (I do admit, I was originally planning to create such thread, but after the bashing in the 2005 thread, I was hurt badly, I didn't want to).

What I ask is, why is there no interest in celebrity moms giving birth to kids? Seriously, giving birth to a baby is a good thing, regardless of issues, isn't it?

And btw, no matter what issues Britney Spears had, I was proud for Britney on the birth of her kids. And I still stand by what I said.

I think you're grasping straws here. What are these kids going to be famous for? "I was born to Celeb X and Celeb Y"? Or something more important?

There's a fine line there. Unless we know for certain that they're not going to be frivolous questions thirty years from now...

"Celebrity Moms" that ARE having children don't make 'announcements' because private matters are very personal, and the general public usually forgets to be respectful of that fact. So it is probably in their best interest to keep their personal lives separate from their public lives. That way, giving birth to a baby can still be considered to be a good thing.
