Why does GSN still air Lingo?

Don't worry, not Chuck Woolery's version. I'm talking about the 2011 remake. With still 10 slots a week, Lingo with Bill Engvall still gets decent numbers, but we only have 40 episodes of the version. And with the GSN upfronts from March, I don't see a new season coming. I just think Lingo is long overdue for a second season. On polls in the "GSN Originals" forum, about 90% of the people here prefer a new season, just with some moderate changes. And I'll put it this way. If Lingo had a second season, we wouldn't have as much Family Feud on the schedule right now I'm sure.

Yes my user name is "Lingofan97", but I think the Engvall slots have to go.

I think Lingo is sort of like Whammy! - GSN just can't let go of it from the schedule. I wouldn't be surprised if Engvall Lingo ratings take another tumble soon and gets removed from the schedule (or at least reduced). Remember when 1 vs 100 was in the afternoons? It did great - sometimes earning 300,000 or 400,000 in the afternoon. After a few reruns, the ratings really sank down to the 100,000's and GSN removed it.

That's what is happening with the 2:30pm slot now. Engvall averaged 211K a couple weeks ago, and that's about what the other weeks average, always from about 210K-240K. But Woolery at noon averages lower always from 150-190K (weekly averages)

We discussed this on the "GSN originals" forum if you want to see it. Season 1 was too cheap, and a bad host. A better host and a $100,000 top prize would be good, or a $250,000 top prize would be better since it looks unlikely for someone to win it
