Hard to believe but, on this date twenty-eight years ago, game show host Jack Barry passed away while jogging in New York's Central Park. Barry hosted such shows as:

    CONCENTRATION
    TWENTY-ONE
    TIC TAC DOUGH
    JUVENILE JURY
    BREAK THE BANK
and of course his most successful show since his involvement in the quiz show scandals
    THE JOKER'S WILD
AND JOKER! JOKER! JOKER! (KIDS VERSION OF THE JOKER'S WILD)

Tic Tac Dough has to come back to GSN as soon as possible, along with Tattletales. In a morning/early afternoon classics line up, I would be so happy with Match Game, Card Sharks, $25,000 Pyramid, Super Password, Password Plus, Tic Tac Dough and Tattletales. GSN can drop 70's/80's Family Feud for all I care. It stinks in ratings. That would make me very happy.

8:00am: Match Game (new season of course)
    8:30am: Match Game
    9:00am: Tic Tac Dough
    9:30am: Card Sharks (Perry)
    10:00am: Password Plus
    10:30am: $25,000 Pyramid
    11:00am: Super Password
    11:30am: Tattletales
    12:00pm: Password Plus
    12:30pm: Super Password
    1:00pm: Match Game
    1:30pm: Match Game PM

...but that's only in our dreams

Probably shouldn't admit this, but here goes. I was 6 years old at the time and was a regular avid watcher of "The Joker's Wild" which aired locally at 7pm. My mom and I were living with grandparents at the time and when she got me up and went in the dining room for breakfast, my grandmother said to my mom that Jack Barry had died. I broke into hysterical crying immediately. A.)I liked the guy and b.) I thought the show was done on the spot and I'd never see it again. I had no idea they taped several weeks/months in advance. So when it aired that night I assumed it was a repeat (that's what I had been told by my grandparents and mom would keep airing). I guess at 6 I wasn't observant of contestants from day to day to notice it was the same one(s) as the day before.

Funny I thought the same thing when I was little about Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but that was at the VERY beginning of the show
