    Producer/creator Bob Stewart passes away

Legendary game show producer and creator Bob Stewart, who is responsible for many of the most successful game show formats of all time -- just to name a few, Password, The Price is Right, To Tell the Truth, and a little thing called Pyramid -- has passed away at the age of 91.

We'll just have to see how GSN reacts. This could be a second chance for a Pyramid marathon, or maybe even some of Stewart's other works.

Wow, first the master of Pyramid, then the mastermind. R.I.P. Bob Stewart.

What are some lesser known game shows that Bob Stewart produced?

Sad to hear this news. RIP to one of my favorite masterminds in the game show genre, and the creator of my favorite game show of all time, Pyramid.

The game show world wouldn't be the same at all without his influence.

RIP to the master producer of THE PYRAMID GAME SHOW Robert (Bob) Stewart! I personally think that this is too coincidental that his passes came about two weeks after Richard Wagstaff (Dick) Clark passed on! Clark the master host of Pyramid and Stewart the master producer of Pyramid! Stewart also produced such game shows as:

    Chain Reaction
    Jackpot!
    Double Talk
    Go!
    and others!!!

Problem of course, other than Pyramid, GSN's typical demographic wouldn't know what he was behind. Aside from the G/T stuff he was responsible for, most of his '70s works are gone and the '80s shows are 'relatively' obscure.

Limiting myself to just what I can name off the top of my head, in chronological order:
    • Eye Guess
    • The Face is Familiar
    • Three on a Match
    • Winning Streak
    • Jackpot!
    • Blankety Blanks
    • Shoot for the Stars
    • Pass the Buck
    • Chain Reaction
    • Go!
    • Double Talk
...and about a dozen or so failed pilots, including:
    • Caught in the Act (two different shows of that title, in fact)
    • Get Rich Quick!
    • The $10,000 Sweep
    • $50,000 a Minute
    • Twisters
    • The Riddlers
    • Money in the Blank

And right after Dick Clark dies. That's interesting timing.

    R.I.P. Bob Stewart

    One great game show creator

I also found it coincidental. Dick Clark passes away, then a week later, the producer of Pyramid, Bob Stewart, also passes away.

Unbelievable. The sadness just won't go away.

RIP Bob. You created one of the greatest and longest running game shows with Pyramid. And that other fantastic format you gave us, Password. If there's a 10,000 Pyramid, Hopefully you're producing it up in heaven and Dick's hosting. We will never forget you Bob.

Man, both pioneers of Pyramid passed away within a week of each other. A very tough week for the game show world...
    I'll be around.

DOUBLE TALK (ABC, 1986)--- IF you are familier with "In Other Words" on J!, you'll have the idea on this one.

PASS THE BUCK (CBS, 1978)--- Record for fewest contestants ever during a 13 week run, due to rule keeping vanquished challengers on when the winner doesn't win the bonus round.
