    GSN's new version of Pyramid

Buzzerblog is tweeting that the pilot for GSN's new version of Pyramid will tape on June 11th, and if the show gets picked up, the remaining episodes will start taping on July 24th. No word on who the host is yet, Alex is still trying to find out.

I have to wonder if classic Pyramid (either Clark or Osmond) will leave the schedule when their own version hits the airwaves.

Did Woolery's Lingo disappear during Engvall's initial run? Unless they plan on airing this version Pyramid every day at 10:30am I don't see why it would. But I won't put anything past those responsible for programming decisions these days.

Chuck Woolery's Lingo stayed on the air when Engvall's Lingo hit the air. Woolery had 2-3 daytime slots last June, down from 4 from the beginning of 2011. But GSN took off Eubanks' The Newlywed Game when the new version started, so I think both versions of Pyramid could leave the network late this year.

Had Eubanks' TNG already been off the air for a while or did it go off the air right when Carnie's version came in? I don't remember.

Both versions of Lingo aired at the same time, but remember Chuck's version was still technically a GSN original production; that is not the case with Osmond and Clark Pyramid. Of course, both versions of PYL aired at the same time as well back in 2002 and 2003 when Whammy! was airing in first runs, so you never know.

It actually had been. Eubanks' The Newlywed Game probably hasn't been on GSN in five years, but since it was a highly rated classic you would think they would bring it back. But they don't since they have their current version. The same thing may happen with Pyramid.

I hope GSN creates a good theme song. Don't cheap out on the music in favor of extra commercial time, GSN!

Engvall's Lingo had a bad theme song...

or just reuse or revive the "tuning up" theme song form the 80's $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid.

They'll try their best. I don't think Engvall Lingo's theme song was the bad. The Newlywed Game's new one was bad compared to season 1-4 with the announcer and turning set.

^^ GSN commercials used to be so much better than they are now. Now they are just plain annoying and you might want to throw your TV out the window.

I haven't noticed annoying commercials ever since the premiere of Harvey Feud ("Ive got a Feud attitude). I like the commercials for The Newlywed Game, 5th Grader, block scheduling and some of the commercials for Harvey Feud right now.

Well, okay, I admit the Family Feud one was catchy. I don't care about The Newlywed Game one, 5th Grader is okay.

Throughout the year we're going to realize that some of the highest ratings GSN has had this year are from those shows, so as long as GSN doesn't create annoying ads people will still watch them.

what about the one after the credit crunch of Dawson's Feud about the "Classics" promo with the song "She's on Fire" in the background?
