New episodes of 5th Grader end

For it's GSN run, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader has finished its last episodes of the 2007-2009 series. Three new episodes will air tonight (5/13)at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00pm. Then, next Sunday (5/20) the last episode of 5th Grader will air at 6:00pm from late 2009.

5th Grader was probably one of the best GSN acquisitions in year. It had good numbers every single week, and topped GSN-ratings highs in April, alongside Family Feud with Steve Harvey. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? was never spread out the schedule too much like past acquisitions Deal or No Deal, and Power of 10, and therefore will probably take years before the show gets too stale.

Really? When did they start airing them? Seems like they should have finished it long before now but admittedly I may be thinking they've been showing them longer than they have.

That's why 5th Grader has worked; other than a brief run at 5pm weekdays, it hasn't been shown outside of its block. Could this be worth noticing, GSN?

Now we'll see how it does in its second cycle. I think it'll be O.K. assuming GSN sticks with how it airs right now.

They started airing the episodes on November 7th, and have had three new episodes a week, and two reruns.

Oh that's what it is. I figured it was 5 first run.

5th Grader did pretty well at 5pm, but it turns out Harvey Feud did so much better. Eventually, when the Monday-Friday block scheduling is dropped, I would put it in a five night a week slot in prime time, I would say 10pm, and then stick a new acquisition on Sunday nights from about 6-11pm (or maybe an hour shorter). I see the acquisitions are really working well on Sunday nights, as long as they're good ones.

The first week it was, but then I believe it was three episodes per week.

I wouldn't. You'd burn through them in what, 2 months?

If 5th Grader leaves Sunday nights (months from now if ratings go down), then I could see it being pulled into a prime time slot. This means 5th Grader would air 5 times a week in reruns, same as now.

I believe I read somewhere that about 80 eps of prime-time 5th Grader were produced. The reruns would start after 16 weeks at five days a week. Maybe GSN can acquire the 1/2 hour syndie 5th Grader shows, since The Hub has apparently stopped airing them.

There are 86 episodes (FOX) according to Wikipedia. GSN picking up syndicated 5th Grader could still do well in ratings, but I doubt we would see 500K like numbers every week. I'm comparing prime time/syndicated 5th Grader to both versions of Deal or No Deal. Syndicated DOND had several changes, but all that happened with Syndicated 5th Grader is that they lowered the money.

As we all remember, Syndicated Deal or No Deal didn't do as well as the original
