Actually, Wheel tapes six shows in one day. The sixth show taped each day uses the same set but the theme is changed to something generic like "America's Game". Then five of these "sixth episodes" are compiled into one week of shows to air Monday through Friday. That's why several times each season you will notice a different set on each of the five days even though the theme remains constant throughout the week.

This allows the show to save on production costs by utilizing the studio and crew fewer days throughout the year.

I've heard of this before. It makes perfect sense. I've seen this through the rotation the few times I watch WOF

Does anyone's affiliate show only Wheel of Fortune on Saturday nights (at the regular time) but not Jeopardy!? Mine doesn't. It's usually a paid programming at 7pm and then WOF at 7:30pm, or sometimes the Paid Programming lasts an hour
