    Memorial Day Gift Card Giveaway!!!

Dare I hope that they might be for SALE? It's hard to tell from the description... Or will they be sweepstakes only?

Although I would prefer the buy-it-now option, it sounds like there will be lots of prizes to give away to many players.

    What a nice surprise!

** On another note, I spent just 5 oodles to play in the Wheel of Fortune Fan Tournament they had on World Winner (while I was playing my Weekend Warrior games I decided to play one) and imagine my surprise when I found 500 oodles in my account today from it! Wow. Very cool! I also hit the Crazy 8 on Mahjongg Toy Chest so between those and my other leaderboard oodles, I added 2,000 oodles to my account when I logged in this early morning!

I would think many people have better things to do than play GSN games on the Memorial Day Holiday.

Well, perhaps. But for many, it's a holiday where they have the day off from work and it might just be a day of leisure. Anyway, it said on the promo that they'll be giving cards away every 15 minutes so everyone will have a chance at some point in the day.

the description makes it sound likes its all sweepstakes

It does, in a way... but, "On Monday, May 28th the Prize Center will be stocked with gift cards up for grabs every 15 minutes!" could be construed as sweeps, auctions or buy-it-now. I don't know... I'm really not expecting to be able to buy any but I hope I get lucky and am able to get *something*.

Good luck you you, too (whatever it turns out to be).

unless GSN is waiving the 10 day restriction on Buy It Nows it will have to be auctions or sweepstakes. My guess is sweepstakes as I am doubtful they would be able to manage 15 minute auctions. As I've said before, GSN just ain't what it used to be.

I was thinking that 15-minute auctions would actually be kind of interesting. There would be so many that someone could feasibly swoop in with a lower-than-usual (i.e., a reasonable amount) and win one.

Whatever it is, it sounds like it'll be kind of manic. Maybe they'll have several going at once that are staggered times so every 15 minutes one auciton/sweeps ends but other are going? Who knows? I still hope that there are some buy-it-nows but I know not to count on it.

**Edit: And when they did the Black Friday/Cyber Monday bonanza of 2010-- they DID waive the 10-day waiting period for buying items. I got two $10.00 Starbucks cards and a $25.00 Walmart card.

But heck, it wouldn't even be so bad if they HAD the limit... then more people could be assured to get *something* on Memorial Day. I'd like to see the rewards spread out to as many people as possible.

Oh My... I just bought a Good HouseKeeping Mag Subscription on the 22nd so I HOPE they waive it or something! Wouldn't you know it I wait forever to BUY something and they decide to do something like this! MAYBE it will be a Sweep... ANYONE know anything more? HOPING Angel will see this and know for sure!

I'm sure you're okay, Rose. I was going to go ahead and get my EW subscription but held off just in case... but I know I'm dreaming.

I would like to know for sure, though.

I didn't see any "giveaways" yesterday. Looked more like the same old, same old, bidding for prizes, nothing for sure. That is why I donate my Oodles to BCRF. I did purchase a couple of Oodlectibles though.

Yeah, I blew over 30,000 oodles entering the hourly sweeps for the $25.00 Amazon card. I could've used those for BCRF donations instead.

I'm just not into the oodlectibles... although for 5 oodles I bought the Memorial Day one.

I just used 5,000 Oodles yesterday for BCRF and the 10,000 option wasn't there. Even if it was, you could only make one contribution. As my old boss in radio use to say, "You pays your money, you takes your chances." I did try to win a Dell All In One PC with Oodles, so I have strayed. HA!
