Hmmm...generic credits now during the crunch with a SPT logo at the end? Is this the same during the normal airings?

I hate that they start the Friday night block episodes over at 10:00. Why not show all different episodes during the entire block?

Nope, they just do it for these airings.

Funny, because according to the PDFs, Show #1000 is airing on June 14. But then again, that may be the 1,000th produced episode that will air on June 14, and that may not show any cake on the set. The 1,000th aired episode may not be the 1,000th produced episode.

Unless, of course, there are skipped episodes along the way, which may bring us to the 1,000th episode quicker.

When Bob Stewart was producing the show, for some strange reason, he thought it would be a good idea to skip numbers during the labeling process, due to nation-wide preemptions.

    For example:

Week #010 (November 22-24, 1982): Vicki Lawrence & Richard Kline (#0046-#0048; only 3 shows due to Thanksgiving)
    Week #011 (November 29-30, December 1-3, 1982): Rita Moreno & Robert Foxworth (#0051-#0055)

    But it was actually:

Week #010 (November 22-24, 1982): Vicki Lawrence & Richard Kline (#0046-#0048; only 3 shows due to Thanksgiving)
    Week #011 (November 29-30, December 1-3, 1982): Rita Moreno & Robert Foxworth (#0049-#0053)

Therefore, the 1,000th episode was actually labeled by Mr. Stewart as #1010.

I have no idea why Bob Stewart used such a slightly strange way of numbering each episode, when he could have just used the conventional method of numbering each episode consecutively, like what Mark Goodson did for all of Super Password.

    Never trust the pdf's.

Was the cake a part of the episode, or would GSN just cut that out?

Um, did you even read my post? I was clearly saying that the production codes reflected what Bob Stewart had in mind at the time! Not Casey Abell's so-called "words of wisdom"!

Exactly. The production number is not the same as the airing number; meaning the 1000th aired episode with the cake and all was actually labeled as #1010 for production purposes.

    In terms of production numbers:
Episodes #991-995 featured Ilene Graff and Earl Holliman; this week is airing right now.
Episodes #996-1000 featured Lauri Hendler and LeVar Burton
Episodes #1001-1005 featured Lois Nettleton and Bill Cullen
Episodes #1006-1010 featured Vicki Lawrence and Henry Polic II; episode #1010 is the episode where they celebrate the 1000th aired episode with the Pyramid shaped cake and all the hoopla. This episode should air on Thursday 6/28/12, assuming there are no more episode skips until then.

Lauri Hendler on 25K again this week...I've always had a thing for her. Even today, she is still attractive.
