For another schedule change, I think it could be great to air Donny's Pyramid weekdays at 12:30pm. I just think that could benefit the schedule in more than one way, and moving Woolery to 3:30pm since CR is gone there.

Here's an article from, my blog, just found some time, and it has a picture of Dick Clark, after he made a mistake
I Was Wrong, Dead Wrong
Well, I just got off vacation from beautiful Victoria British Columbia in Canada. While I was eating lunch at the Bay Centre mall, while enjoying some pizza and pasta and root beer, I used the slow Wifi there, and came across some good news. GSN's online schedule listed Donnymid Monday at 10:30am, and The $25,000 Pyramid for the other days. To my surprise, I saw a thread that said they aired The $25,000 Pyramid that morning. Hm, well, there's one thing I was wrong about, as you've read in my blog posts. I also said there was no new lease of episodes. They aired the June 20, 1986 episode, which is an episode they have not yet aired, and they aired the next consecutive episode after that. Well, I feel stupid, and apologize for my cynical behavior. Yes, I was wrong again, and I am glad to see different episodes back, and it looks like we've got some good stuff coming up, like an All*Star week, Bill Cullen playing the game again, the 1,000th episode, and much more. That's pretty exciting.
I did like seeing Donnymid again though. That was fun, and it was a placeholder. This situation, It's almost like The Music Man. Charlie Cowell says there is no boys band, and what do ya know, one is organized, although this sounds much better.
From your post above, I knew GSN wasn't going to hold off Clark's Pyramid forever, even though it was suppose to be a week-only event. I had no clue what would happen, or when. This has probably been one of the biggest GSN mysteries in recent history.
Well, don't be too hard on yourself. We are all wrong at some point or another; no offense, but being a fan of Dick Clark's $25K Pyramid, I am glad you were wrong on this one.![]()
Your line of thinking was understandable, as showing Donnymid for just a couple of weeks seems kind of odd, so it was logical to believe that it may have been a permanent change. After they showed Donnymid two weeks in a row, I started to believe that you may actually be right, but we were all pleasantly surprised yesterday at 10:30 AM. The reason that I, as well as many others, were never entirely convinced that Donnymid was a permanent change was due to the fact that the additions of Donny to the schedule were all so abrupt and last minute, and if it was a permanent change that GSN had the intention of making, then they would have reflected this on their schedule much earlier and not at the last minute every week.
Of course, the unanswered question remains as to why Donnymid was even shown for those two weeks. I still think they were trying to finalize things with the new $25K Pyramid lease, and so they just used Donnymid as a placeholder until things were finalized, but perhaps they were in fact using it to test the waters and see if they should place Donny somewhere else on the schedule in the near future. To be honest, I didn't even know they had the rights to Donnymid anymore, and if they have the rights to it, they might as well put it on the schedule somewhere.
^One of your points makes sense. I thought Donny's Pyramid was easily going to go into a third week, since on the online schedule it still had Pyramid (Osmond) for Monday at 10:30am and then Clark's version for the rest of the week. I was sure that the schedule was going to flip over this week to Donny's Pyramid. But I never thought Osmond's Pyramid would stay on GSN permanently. I knew that GSN would pick up new(er) episodes of $25,000 Pyramid, instead of showing "PYRAMID" forever, or at least in those time slots
Quick question: Did anyone watch yesterday's 25k Pyramid? I watched today's show and Dick Clark said it was the Thursday show of the current week with Markie & Nathan. Now, when I watched on Tuesday, it was the Monday show of the week. I can only guess one episode was skipped over?
What's to get upset over? It is just one episode. GSN has skipped episodes of many classics in the past for tape damage. Match Game, Card Sharks, and Dawson Feud come to mind.
Think about this. These old shows are 25-30+years old. It really is not surprising to me that there are some tapes that just cannot be broadcast. Even the previous 25k Pyramid package had few skips here and there. These shows haven't been seen in 20+ years, so I'm just glad they are even airing them on the network. Maybe there will be more skips in this new package they have, who knows?
You have the right to your opinion, but I'm sorry just one or a few skipped episodes shouldn't make you upset. Trust me, there are far more important things to worry about. And your right, it isn't GSN's fault. Stuff like this just happens. GSN has lots of game shows in their vault, but I would bet that most older series they have at least one episode that may be in bad shape, so they skip it.
