I said this earlier. The 1980's run of Chain Reaction was too short for GSN to lease.

So, that's why we still have Dylan's version of it, right?

There are other versions of it but I don't know if GSN can get those or not.

The American version from the 1980's only had about 50 episodes. That's not enough for GSN to lease. GSN's Chain Reaction had 130 episodes. Still, it's on twice a day which is a little too much for that little episodes

    Oh wow, I was wrong. NBC's version ran for 115. 23 weeks, 5 episodes a week = 115 episodes. Still short-lived though.

It will be good for weekends anyway, like 1 Vs. 100 is.

I have to wonder to myself right now, which episodes of The $100,000 Pyramid will appear tomorrow. I think it'll be the usual 1987-1988 episodes. I could be wrong.

There was a version that ran on USA for many years that was apparently actually from Canada.

Oh, I thought GSN's version beat that by a country mile.

Didn't Geoff Edwards do that version?

The USA version was apparently on for about 5 years. Whether it was all first run or not I don't know/remember.

You could be right. Or it could be a different lease of the same batch of episodes GSN rerun-abused from 2005 to 2007. Or we may be in a for a treat with the long-awaited 1985-86 season after not being shown since the 1990s.

As of this post, we will find out in just over 2 1/2 hours from now.

    Sorry

A good indicator to tell if GSN picked up the 1985-86 season of $100K Pyramid is during the opening, when the Pyramid board is zoomed out and the $100K Pyramid logo is smaller than normal. I am not sure if that prevailed during the 1986-87 season.

Another good indicator is if Charlie Tuna (or anybody who is not Charlie O'Donnell or Johnny Gilbert) served as announcer. If I remember correctly, it was speculated that Charlie Tuna announced on the Friday episode of the Premiere week, which was one of the episodes that aired during the 2008 New Year's Eve marathon.

Nope. Johnny Gilbert announced the premiere week. As a matter of fact, the zoomed out board only happened for premiere week. All other episodes were zoomed in. Some more than others.
