Attention Roku owners...
If you own a Roku and are a fan of British game shows, you simply must get the "Nowhere TV" channel. It's a "private" channel, meaning it doesn't show up in the official Roku Channel Store; you have to install it manually. This site has all the details, including how to add it to your Roku's lineup.
So why do you need this channel? Among other things, it features -- at least for now -- live streaming of BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, and Channel 4. That means you'll be able to see new episodes of UK game show favorites such as Countdown, Pointless, The Chase, The Cube, and more, including arguably the best version of Deal or No Deal in the world.
The only thing to keep in mind is that these streams are live and are not running on any sort of delay. That means they operate on British time, which is currently four hours ahead of Eastern time (or seven hours for you West Coasters). That's a bit of a drawback, but if you're clever enough you can find a workaround... VCRs and DVD recorders still work, after all, and still have timers.
I don't know how long these streams will last; it's entirely possible they're only being added due to all the stuff happening in the UK this summer (the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympics), and once it's all over they will vanish. However, for the moment they're up and running, and if you have a Roku there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to enjoy them while they last.
