    3 years ago this week.... GSN awards

    3 years ago this past week: June 6th, 2009 to be exact was the First Annual GSN Game Show Awards.

    It was hosted by Howie Mandel and right at the intro, it offered Howie in bed with Bob Barker. The show went partially entertaining from there.

    Blatant attempt at GSN to capitalize from TV Land's idea for an awards show. Some of the winners/ nominees didn't make much sense at all. The defunct TP: America plays won an award and DWTS also won something yet, viewers brutally dismiss the reruns on GSN itself.

    well the way Bob treated Betty was bad, and GSN just kisses up to Bob

    I do wonder if this were to take place now (and with how big of a Star Betty is now), Who's side would they choose now. Bob's or Betty's?

    I didn't catch a second of the game show awards but it was just something GSN shouldn't have attempted in my opinion. GSN just should have spent their money on a new season of classics, or 65 new episodes of an originals, rather than just one night of this. It was great to see some celebrities to come out, and it was good for a few laughs. But I'll leave these big award shows to the Grammy's, Academy's and Emmy's

    hey everyone's entitled to their own opinion Lingofan97, now i'll admit it was a creative idea on paper and at least they tried but the execution is a different story and that story is that the show was a flop and that nobody lived happily ever after...THE END!

    As for the other question posted in the thread, Betty's popularity peaked when she hosted SNL and thereafter. Right now, she's keeping a low profile. Her NBC show is really bad. There's so much one can tolerate before admitting it is BAD.
    Too bad GSN couldn't capitalize on TV Land's success with their own award show. There is an audience for this.... somewhere.

    I also care. I liked the awards but was disappointed about Betty not being there.

    but what about the mixing of game shows within an awards show,the less that smart contestants, even the freaking reality show category

    I didn't watch The (actual) Game Show Awards that night on GSN, but I've seen clips on YouTube since, and have seen the variety of celebrities that have been there. Just because I said I knew of a couple celebrities that appeared at GSN's Game Show Awards doesn't mean I had to watch the whole event. It's like somebody saying they knew of celebrities at the Emmys, but didn't watch the actual award show

    Do you remember what video games were featured in the Game Show Video Game Awards category on the GSN Game Show Awards? I knew that the Deal Or No Deal DVD game was the winner of that award but what were the other game show video games in the running for that award?,
