Get ready for even more Family Feud on GSN...

Before the Saturday night block tonight starts, I realized an observation about the GSN Schedule. Starting this week, we will have three 7-hour blocks of Family Feud a week. One on Monday nights, one on Wednesday nights, and one on Saturday nights.

All three nights start out at 5pm and go to midnight. THEN, Mondays and Wednesdays have another hour of Family Feud after Baggage.

The Monday block has O'Hurley then Karn at 5 and 5:30pm, Harvey at 6 and 11pm, then Karn & O'Hurley from 7-11pm.

The Wednesday block has O'Hurley then Karn at 5 and 5:30pm. Then, a six hour Harvey block. 7-10pm are first run episodes.

Then Saturday nights are Harvey at 5 and 11pm, and Karn & O'Hurley from 6-11pm; 9-11pm being repeats of the 6-8pm episodes.

    Mercy.

It's the curse of basic cable. How often does Hallmark , Lifetime, or WE have a "Golden Girls" or "Frasier" block?

(The correct answer is "every bleepin' week," Bob.)

Luckily, there are many many many more episodes of Feud, and people still watch 'em.

your watching the Karn,O'Hurley,& Harvey network

where GSN doesn't care about showing episodes from Richard Dawson,Ray Combs, and to lesser extent Louie Anderson and to much more lesser extent Al Roker 24 hours a day, 3 nights a week!

At least it's not spread over the schedule in too many more areas than this. The 3 night 7-hour blocks contain a total of 42 out of 88 episodes a week. The other spots that Family Feud has around the schedule are...

    8AM Weekdays (5 episodes)
    9:30AM Weekdays (5)
    5, 5:30, 6, 6:30pm Tues., Thurs., Fri. (20)
    12:30AM Weekdays (5)
    1:00AM Weekdays (5)

    Sundays 3-6pm, 11pm hour (8)

The only night that bothers me is Wednesday, which is six straight hours of Harvey. But 95% of Wednesday in prime time does as well or better that GSN wants it to in ratings.

Honestly, I think each host should have their own block of Family Feud.

    Monday - Karn
    Wednesday - Harvey
Thursday - Dawson (So Dawson gets a marathon and test him out)
    Saturday - O'Hurley

I agree wholeheartedly, too much Family Feud. But, Dawson doesn't get his own marathon, and I feel that is wrong and GSN doesn't give Dawson the respect he deserves. Although, he had a Christmas Day marathon last year. Face it, Deal or No Deal doesn't deserve a marathon anymore. Howie's done. Save him for weekends, and the, oh dear lord, 1pm ET slot weekdays. If Dawson failed on Thursday's, bring back Deal or No Deal then. But, seriously, Deal or No Deal just seems a little stale.

Or, if Dawson failed Thursdays, try Baggage. Either one could work. But, I think block scheduling needs to go soon. The way this network is going with Family Feud though, it'll just go sometime.

Dawson shouldn't have bombed on Thursday, considering it was a tribute, and it was advertised throughout the week. Family Feud/Match Game should have done well. But I don't really like the idea of Dawson every Thursday night. Baggage bombed in a block schedule, but Thursday nights have been popular for "dating shows". I'll say more about Baggage below. Dawson bombed at 10pm on Flashback Fridays. Unless they pick up a new lease, let's leave him at 8am.

If GSN picks up a new lease of Match Game, then I would like to see how it does in a Thursday night block, with six new episodes from 7-10pm, then two repeating. But prime time will change completely soon with War of the Rose Sisters, 'Bible' and Beat the Chefs. Hopefully Sherri and The $100,000 Pyramid will stick to the 6 or 7pm hours hopefully.

Quickly, Baggage does well at midnight. Baggage should get some prime time airings, considering during the week it only has its midnight slot. Since Sherri does well everywhere else the Tuesday night block, GSN should mix some Baggage on Tuesday nights for an hour or two on Tuesdays.

That's what I hope for eventually, for GSN to pick up more episodes of Dawson Feud and show it off in prime time. But, still, some people aren't home or don't record Dawson Feud in the morning. He doesn't deserved the kind of disrespect he gets.

and Louie Anderson too, also to lesser extent but not realatable Al Roker who did the hour long Celeb version on NBC in 2008.

but Ricki Lake does not count since she did the Game Show Marathon verion on CBS from 2006.

GSN doesn't have the rights to air Combs' Feud at this time. I wish they did, though.

Maybe Dawson on Mondays would be better, since we already have Karn and O'Hurley on Saturdays. But I think Beat the Chefs and American Bible Challenge are going to change things up very much. I actually created a sample schedule here on what the GSN schedule should probably look like late Summer/early Fall.

I'd rather have GSN lease a new season of Match Game/Match Game PM over Family Feud. On Match Game we'd still be able to see enough of Dawson without having more Family Feud on the schedule

    I totally agree.

As for Family Feud itself, why not just alternate Harvey and Karn from 5:00 p.m. Friday, right through the infomercials overnight, until 9:00 a.m. Saturday, especially from Labor Day to May, so I can miss it entirely? Remember what Popeye said: "I've had enough, and enough is too much!"

He said that? I mentioned Combs version because it's a good idea, it really is. I know that GSN doesn't have the rights to it again right now but they should.

Karn at 4pm and Harvey at 5pm were doing well. I don't get why GSN touched that block. The only possible reason why GSN placed Harvey at 6 and 6:30pm is that it would be a better lead in the block scheduling, but usually the 6pm hour is just for GSN originals.

Yeah. How can people say I forgot Combs, when GSN doesn't even air Combs at this time? I wish they did though.

Okay...Do we really need all this Feud? Personally, if GSN were to do a block scheduling type thing with every version of Family Feud, I say do maybe Karn, O'Hurley, Harvey, and Dawson. If GSN did have the rights to Combs Feud though, they could just air that with Dawson on Thursday. And if GSN had Louie Anderson's version, which I think stunk, IMO, air that with Karn on Monday's considering Louie's version was before Karn and all and it had the same set basically.

But, the amount of Feud GSN has is good. But I would like to see GSN cut down on the airings some. It would be nice to see a classic Feud block because it doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Possibly, but I don't see how it would do bad on Thursday considering it's still in a block schedule. I fail to understand that.

I don't get why GSN touched that block.
Maybe they finally got the memo.
