I didn't mean "bad" in a "harmful" way, but I do agree with you about the "dumbing down" bit. Let's face it -- according to producers, the average viewing audience today is about half as smart as they were 25 (or even 10) years ago.

From what I understand, the Winner's Circle, if not having been ousted entirely, was at least given a whole new set of rules. You're right in assuming the seats were thrown out, but the pyramid itself was discarded as well in favor of what were called "seven surrounding screens." My sources didn't say anything about how this particular bonus round was played, but it had to have involved some form of new rules ("don't use your hands," for example, being discarded; which I admit is only a minor change). I realize I shouldn't have said the Winner's Circle was thrown out entirely, and for that I apologize for posting before thinking. Next time I'll be sure to double-double-check my sources.

Hey, it's no problem. I knew you weren't calling me out, I just wanted to apologize in general for misinformation (I'd rechecked my sources and realized I'd misread the details). I'd personally like to see a clip of this particular bonus round just to see how it would've gone, myself.

They stand on Who Wants to be a Millionaire now (since 2010), and I think the show has been dumb down a little bit since the more serious, sitting down format. But at the same time, the show had a huge ratings boost because of the new format in 2010.

True, it had a ratings boost. But it can't be because the contestants stand on there, which I am aware of.

Now that GSN is calling the show "The Pyramid" looks like the top prize will be less now, but I'm hoping it will still be $100,000
