For whatever it's worth this was a last minute decision. I had it confirmed it was a goner. I was sent an email from a source on April 14th saying Hasbro went back and were, "attempts underway to save the show from a lot of different angles," and "Right now, nothing is certain either way." I was asked to keep quiet about it, though. And it wasn't just me. Announcer Randy West, who is awfully reliable about this stuff as everyone knows, said just about three weeks ago, "While I don't know of any formal announcement, sadly, it appears that FGN will not be back, following a season that earned its host Todd Newton another well-deserved Emmy nomination." So again, sorry for the confusion, but this was confirmed to be cancelled but Hasbro found a way to bring it back and make it work. Not sure what the situation was which caused it to be cancelled (I'm going to guess budget), but it seems to be resolved.

I knew The Hub wouldn't cancel Family Game Night, with how much attention it was bringing to the network, plus Todd Newton. The show being cancelled was just a hoax, and at least it's back for real now

It's cancellation was a hoax. They laid off staff originally. They just reversed the decision.

Never saw anything public from named sources at the network or the show to confirm the cancellation. Sure, Hub's a tiny niche network that makes GSN look like a giant. But Family Game Night is one of Hub's flagship shows, with plum timeslots on Friday and Sunday nights. Seems that something would have broken publicly from named and verifiable sources if the show was really axed at any point, especially after Hub's public announcement of the show's renewal. Without knowing the anonymous sources involved in the rumor, it's impossible to say if the show was ever really in danger.

I've got to say...Family Game Night is also bringing a lot of attention to The Hub with Todd Newton, as being such a good host. We wouldn't be talking about The Hub right now, and in other places on this forum. It's been one of their best game shows. I wouldn't watch The Hub if it wasn't for Family Game Night

The 1984-1990 NBC daytime game show Scrabble may have been the first successful board game turned game show to ever succeed on television but Family Game Night on the Hub crrently is the second board game turned game show to ever succeed on televison.

Sure. But this is a real big deal for The Hub now, looking at some of their pass failures.

I've never even heard of The Hub until about a year ago

Glad to hear FGN is coming back. As I said before, it is of the longest running original shows on The Hub and would have been a real head-scratcher if it was cancelled after only two years.

I''ve never heard of Pictureka, and I've only heard of the other two here on this forums, so I'd have to say they were extreme failures

I've never heard of this. Family Game Night does so much better. There main focus should be Family Game Night
