i'm assuming that your talking about Card Sharks right, if it is then i'll say this...Fremantle can revive CS if they wan't too, just as long as they used the format from the 70's and 80's, and not a single hint from the 2001-2002 version.

I disagree. Celebrity Feud was a prime time series for NBC and it wasn't a special. A special is a one-time event. Celebrity Feud aired for several Tuesdays during one Summer on NBC. Ricki Lake was a one-time thing, so she should not be counted. If she does, then you'll have to count Sammy Davis Jr.
LMAD '03 was another series and not a special yet.... Celebrity Feud last longed than this series.
    yeah...FOR SIX EPISODES!

I saw a whole episode of Celebrity Family Feud on YouTube. First was the show a whole hour? And second, you shouldn't consider Al Roker a real Family Feud host for 6 episodes, since other game shows have guest hosts for 5 episodes (or a week)

yes it was an hour long show, 45-48 minutes to be exact and just in case you want to know about the show:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_Family_Feud

Celebrity Family Feud is a spin-off game show created by NBC, and hosted by television weatherman anchor Al Roker. The announcer was Burton Richardson.Celebrity Family Feud pitted against two families against each other in a contest to namethe most popular responses to survey-type questions posed to 100 people. his version was a spin-off of the original Family Feud, featured celebrity families instead of regular families,ad was a revival of the primetime All-Stars specials featured during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

This version also featured five-player teams composed of a celebrity captain and four friends and/or relatives, with a $50,000 charity payoff at stake. In addition,it dubuted changes to the set and sound effects which has debuted in 2006 of current syndicated set including the classic theme music(The Feud as heard on the Combs version from 1988-1994) as the opening/closing theme and as the Faceoff/commercial cues.

Roker was chosen as the host for this version because at the time of taping, the then-host of the syndicated daytime Feud, John O'Hurley, was committed to a series on anothe network, which was the one-episode flop Secret Talent of the Stars. The Show debuted sound effects and set changes that appeard that fall on the ensuing O'Hurley season of the syndicated Family Feud.

On March 13, 2009 it was confirmd that the series has been cancelled and would not be returned for a scond seson.

    DIFFERENCES IN GAMEPLAY

Unlike the Original All-Star special fomat, where the winners of the two rounds played one question to determine which teams makes it to Fast Money, there were three matches played in the one-hour format.

In order to fit three ganes,(two semifinals with one final match to determine which team makes it to the Fast Money round) all games followed a format that was a modified version of the 1999-2003 format, with just three rounds (two single rounds, and a triple with the usyal three-strikes rule). A family must make 300 points to win the game. and as in the case with the rules from 1979-1984 amd 1988-1995 and yet again since 2003, if neither family reaches to 300 points after the triple round, a sudden death round was played. The next members of each family would participate in a face-off where the top answer counts. If neither player family reached to 300 anfter the first sudden death, subsequent sudden death triple rounds would be played until a winner is determined.

In 2009, when the cilvilian version show revived the Bullseye round, a small three round format (a singlem a double, amd a triple round)was palyed. again the sudden death rule applies.

In Fast Money, if one or both family members accumulated a total of 200 points or more, the family won $50,000 for their charity. If the family did not reach 200 points,$25,000 was still rewarded to their charity.

Engvall stated in episode 4 prior to the taping.he and Larry agreed to give $50,000 to each other's charities no matter who won.

and BTW Lingofan97, i will not ever concidered Al Roker is a "Real" Family Feud host. he was a spin-off host instead!

I personally like to count Celebrity Family Feud as a spin-off rather than part of the current series myself. It just seems like one to me.

Agreed. It was a spin-off, but the set looked exactly alike to current one at the time (in 2008)

It actually was the set used on the current version at the time, hence the changes seen when that particular season started up in 2008. I don't know if they had intended on it being like that Celebrity Family Feud or no, but it was introduced on CFF.

The 2008-09 set made the show look a lot more modern. I honestly don't even know what celebrities were on Family Feud...now four years ago

Joan Rivers and Ice-T's families were on the first episode. Ice-T gave the answer of "*****" to the question "Name something that's slippery and hard to hold," the very first question of the show.

The Kardashians, Raven-Symone's family, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy's families, the cast of My Name Is Earl (in-character, which really killed the show for me) and others were on there as well. I can't think of any others off the top of my head right now since I didn't really watch that version (I thought it was weak, myself, and Al Roker's reminding me of Richard Karn didn't help any), but I'm sure the Wikipedia page has them all listed.

EDIT: The censored word starts with a "p."

And actually watching the Celebrity Family Feud episodes, Al Roker doesn't look too off place on the set of the show. Some game show hosts, like Sherri Shepherd the first time on The Newlywed Game looked out of place. Al Roker looked like he was an actual host of the show, and knew the show well. Maybe he could be the future of Family Feud someday when Harvey leaves

and i already know what word your thinking of in your mind and don't worry i won't say it myself for this thread but in the immortal quote of Mr. Roker himself from the very first episode of Celebrity Family Feud..."SHOW ME...CAPTAIN WINKY"
