Thread: virus alert

    Unhappy virus alert

Not sure where to post this. 3 times in less than 24 hours my computer has been attacked by"remedyefficiencyshield.in" from this site. The last attack was in the middle of a swap-it game.

It is a newer mode of attack which tries to get you to their web site to install the virus. Norton Security identifies the issue as coming from this site; no other web site or operation on my computer. Just an FYI, FWIW.

I hate to panic anyone, but it is clearly an issue here.

My Norton picked up on it this morning also the first time I tried to sign it,so it it not just you.

I'm guessing it's an ad, as the site is clear. Does anyone recall which ad was up?

I've had this happen to me three times, usually on the casino games. I think someone is trying to steal credit card info. No reply from GSN to an email I sent them.

I posted this problem 2 days ago under the game show thread. It was a trojan horse virus and a hack tool as identified by me going on a thread. Others have reported problems on other threads. My virus scan did show the trojan horse virus and I deleted it. I looked up the definition as it was said and it is a virus for game shows===those that have credit card #'s for games should be wary---GSN did not address this issue although help has been e-mailed-

Your post was forwarded on Monday. If/when it happens again, can you please take a screenshot of the ad that's up and send to help@gsn.com?

It happened to me again also when I was playing Bejeweled for oodles. I got a popup so I shut down my computer. My antivirus picked it up as a trojan virus and I deleted it. This one looked different from the one the other day. It had a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. The other one was red.

The only time I've seen this is when I'm on the forum--no ads here. Better check your site again. So far, it's popped up three times on three different days.

The ads are on the sidebar for the forums, and at the top of the page.
