Hollywood Squares just really hasn't worked on GSN. Sure Bergeron got a good run at first, but after they got rid of it, and brought it back, it just didn't work last time around.

And Marshall's version bombed when it was on GSN back in 2002-2003. Also, a lot of people around here hate it (I'm not one of them, I liked it)

I've never actually seen on rating for an airing of Hollywood Squares, or even Love Connection (woolery). Two shows I wish would be back on GSN. But apparently, they both bombed. So let's forget that. Hollywood Squares I thought would work out for GSN because of the success of Match Game, and how they are both celebrity driven game shows. But, I also realize from watching both of them that Match Game was more real, and unscripted which makes the show more fun.

We just need a new season of Match Game/Match Game PM now on GSN. Period

    I don't get 5th Grader and it's not a classic.

5th Grader is a modern show, and do you think the GSN schedule should be filled with classics? I admit, I like classics to but the GSN schedule can't be filled with classics.

You don't put classics in with modern ones. The modern ones can be seen in the daytime and the classics can be seen at 5:00pm.

Well, it's still doing well in reruns on Sunday nights, and is GSN's best night of the week (the Harvey is #2 on Wednesdays, normally)

This is a really good thread, because I'm struck at how good the schedule actually is. There are shows I don't watch, of course, but compared to the Summer of 2011, this is pretty decent. New $25,000 Pyramids has been a real joy and, frankly, a surprise.

The one caveat is that the schedule is very safe. Something doesn't work? Throw another "Feud" on the schedule! One or two more series could help -- a run of Card Sharks or Wheel of Fortune somewhere on the schedule would safely enhance the schedule further.

The ratings disagree with you. Personally, I like the current schedule, and the shows are placed at the right times.

That said, adding 1-2 more game shows to the lineup would keep everything a little fresher.

GSN will have bad shows as long as Baggage and The Newlywed Game remain on the schedule. It still irks me that those two are big hits while GSN's two best originals (Grand Slam and 20Q) disappeared quickly. Grand Slam might not have worked as a daily series but 20Q should have aired weeknights at 6PM like Newlywed/Baggage were forever.

With everything else, all I'm asking for is Card Sharks and Wheel of Fortune to air again on GSN, and then a new season of Match Game. That would help mornings/early afternoons at least. But as you said, 2012 has had very traditional game shows so far, unlike Love Triangle and Improv. Baggage isn't really a "traditional" game show, but can still go in the category of game shows. The good news is it has been cut back a lot.

I don't see any bad shows currently airing on GSN (except for Dancing's return in a few weeks).

What I complain about is overkill of Family Feud (all hosts) on the schedule.

Now that 1 VS 100 is gone, it's one less program on the network, which means even more airings of the currently-overrun programs.

And if you think that's bad, if GSN ever decides to axe Millionaire and Million Dollar Password, we'll be down to 15 programs being broadcast every day on a 7-day schedule.

I kind of wish GSN would put Millionaire in at Noon on Saturday and test that out. Million Dollar Password is okay, but it only had very few episodes.

    1) Family Feud is actually on in bulks I've realized. You have those 4 isolated slots on the schedule Monday-Friday, at 8am, 9:30am, 12:30am and 1:00am (Karn). Otherwise, we have the daily 5-7pm block, the Monday and Wednesday prime time blocks, then the 3-6pm block Sunday, and 5-Midnight on Saturday, and of course 11 and 11:30pm 7 days a week. I couldn't make that shorter, but when we had Lingo 41 times a week, and then 10 Woolery slots, it was longer to say every timeslot.

    2) GSN should have kept the hour of 1 vs 100, and maybe move it to a later time on the Sunday schedule, possibly 1 or 2pm. Noon is too early, especially when you think how early in the morning it's on in the West. $25,000 Pyramid does OK at noon, and it will find an audience. 1 vs 100's 28 episodes at least had a little more variety on the Sunday schedule.

    3) WWTBA Millionaire should go, but MDP does well every Saturday at noon, which got 233K, and usually gets higher. We have 4 new shows coming onto the GSN schedule soon, so if Millionaire goes I won't care. (4 new shows: 'Bible', Beat the Chefs, The Pyramid, and Rose Sisters)

I have to wonder about the mentality of people who watch Baggage and The Newlywed Game. They aren't game shows-- they're GARBAGE!!!!!!!!
