Interesting find for Deal or No Deal (syndicated)

You know how everybody says Deal or No Deal has so much rerun abuse on GSN...not the syndicated version.

Looking at the Past GSN Schedules page, New episodes of Syndicated Deal or No Deal on GSN started in October of 2010 (in that 5pm hour block). Most of us know that. But, the last episode of Syndie Deal or No Deal that aired was on January 10, 2012 at 2:30pm.

If anyone recalls, we were all complaining about that DOND had a full hour at 1pm, then this half hour at 2:30pm, later replaced by Lingo.

Anyway, so no rerun abuse on syndicated Deal or No Deal at all. Each episode has probably cycled through the GSN schedule twice, since it had been on weekends for a few months on, then off, then on again, then off now.

I know ratings weren't the best, but I really don't get why GSN doesn't air it. They should air it weekdays at 1:30pm, and maybe air Pyramid (Osmond), Lingo or even a classic at 1pm.

    Any thoughts here?

I didn't mind the syndie version of DoND at all. I liked the faster pace. I guess both versions had it's positives and negatives. I agree that it deserves a spot somewhere on the schedule, and your 1:30PM idea seems good to me.

Probably the only reason it was fast pace was because it was a 30-minute game show at the time. I liked that too and wish it was that way with the hour version.

I had no problem with the quick pace of the game, glad they didn't draw it out a lot as they did in the primetime version, well it was a half-hour version. I liked the syndicated version more than the primetime version.

All positives about the faced pace of the Syndie DOND here. Most syndicated game shows have been known to be fast paced. 5th Grader was slower when it was an hour long on FOX, but in syndication in 2010 it moved a lot faster from what I've seen. Who Wants to be a Millionaire has also moved a lot faster too since it went into syndication.

Even half hour block somewhere of Syndie DOND, and taking away the 1pm hour for Deal or No Deal from the schedule could boost early afternoon ratings.

Sucky ratings is enough to justify its stay in the vault. Also when it was brought back last July, it was used to replace a low-rated show (Improv in an afternoon airing)

Heck, anything beat out Improv. Even Dancing with the Stars did most of the time

    Even block scheduling would.

Block scheduling ratings? They were poor but I think they're going to get slightly better with the 2 hours of Family Feud as a HUGE lead in.

Syndicated Deal or No Deal can also air on Thursday nights in the event that a 2-hour Deal or No Deal episode would go past 11pm, or be an hour and a half starting at 9pm, and ending at 10:30pm. Just an example.

Also, Family Feud (O'Hurley) could work in that situation.

You nailed it. It wasn't that bad a version, but I think it suffered from the Deal burnout that had begun to set in by that point. I don't think it needs any regular spot right now.

As I said, it could be a filler in prime time if there needs to be a half hour show somewhere, and we don't need another Family Feud on the schedule.
