This came up on another thread recently.
The 3am hour (Eastern) has always been the lowest rated hour of the programming day. Even sometimes Dawson Feud at 8am beats out The $25,000 Pyramid and Super Password at 3 and 3:30am. Millionaire of course has almost no point of airing on GSN anymore, since Regis' episodes have been run down. Regis' Millionaire is now 10 years old, and getting rid of it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Paid Programming brings in money for GSN, which could help out a little bit. I know this isn't too big of a deal, since it's 3am Eastern/12am Pacific. I don't think it's that big of a deal for the programming day to end an hour earlier then now, even if it is as early as midnight on the West Coast. A lot of other cable networks have 8-9 hours of Paid Programming in a day anyway.
Monday-Friday
2:00am: Jeopardy!
2:30am: The $25,000 Pyramid
3:00am: Paid Programming
(no same day repeating of P+ and SP)
Saturdays: Same as now (Newlywed Game and Baggage 12am-3am; no Catch 21)
Sundays
1am hour: The $25,000 Pyramid
2am hour: Family Feud (Karn then O'Hurley)
3:00am: Paid Programming
