    GSN Ratings - June 25th-July 1st

    http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/20...ares-june.html

Top 30 spots belonged to Karn, O'Hurley, and Harvey. 5th Grader fell all the way to number 31 with a pretty good 418,000 viewers. The bottom 5 slots also belong to Feud, but sadly they were all Dawson. He did not receive any number above 100,000 again. One weird thing to me is how low the ratings are for Password Plus in the morning, but how high they get for 2:30am.

I'm sure somebody will have all the averages soon.

GSN block and daytime averages June 25-July 1

    That someone is always me...

Daytime averages ranked highest to lowest
    6:30pm Family Feud: 489K
    6:00pm Family Feud: 451K
5:30pm Family Feud: 432K (wow, Karn got two slots over 500K)
    5:00pm Family Feud: 352K
    3:30pm Chain Reaction: 336K
    4:30pm Catch 21: 324K
    4:00pm Catch 21: 312K
    3:00pm Whammy: 298K
    2:30pm Lingo: 288K
    2:00pm Catch 21: 248K
    12:30pm Lingo: 194K
1:00pm Deal or No Deal: 190K
11:00am Super Password: 188K (best classic of the week)
    8:30am Match Game: 183K
    10:30am $25,000 Pyramid: 178K (3rd best classic)
    10:00am $100,000 Pyramid: 162K
    11:30am Chain Reaction: 161K
    9:30am Family Feud: 151K
    12:00pm Jeopardy: 144K
    9:00am Password Plus: 139K
8:00am Family Feud: 70K (MG got double that there)

Block averages (7-11pm weekdays; 6-11pm weekends
Monday Family Feud: 438K (Karn: 425K; O'Hurley: 451K); O'Hurley beats out Karn. This is the best night where Harvey as a lead in helps out
Tuesday The Newlywed Game: 248K; so-so, this night could be replaced down the road, but doubtful since I'm not sure what they would air
Wednesday Family Feud (Harvey): 449K; great, 10:30pm was the highest slot of the week, with 593K
Thursday Deal or No Deal: 269K; turned around the past two weeks before GSN gave it the boot; that 269K is higher than what we've had
Friday $25,000 Pyramid: 254K (269K without 10pm slot); A little better, but that new ad better work wonders
Saturday Family Feud: 368K (Karn: 365K O'Hurley: 370K); Wow, O'Hurley Feud beats out Karn twice in the same week, but not by much
Sunday 5th Grader: 351K; lower than usual, just around the prime time average, not a ratings-winner this week sadly

Not much else to say except what I added to the ratings entry on the blog...

And for that week, the top thirty shows on GSN were Harvey, Karn and O'Hurley Family Feud, according to Douglas Pucci. Unbelievable dominance by a single show. Douglas also says that Figure It Out averaged a healthy 2.4 million viewers for the week - most of them young'uns, of course - while Hip Hop Squares slumped to 167K viewers.

Oh, calculated the prime time/total day averages from Douglas's numbers and they agree with TVNewser from earlier in the week: 346K/264K. Nice to have some independent confirmation. One non-GSN note: Hip Hop Squares at 167K was essentially the same as MTV2's total day average of 159K. I can see why the show looks to be gone from the network after next week. It has really faded from its debut ratings.

Nothing too special this week in ratings besides what I listed above. Family Feud usually takes the whole top 5, but not the whole TOP 30. On weekends, The Newlywed Game and Baggage perked up late nights again.

    12:00am The Newlywed Game: 306K
    12:30am The Newlywed Game: 309K
    1:00am Baggage: 303K
    1:30am Baggage: 275K
    2:00am Baggage: 246K
    2:30am Baggage: 243K

On Saturdays, Million Dollar Password gets another top daytime slot at 266K, then Deal or No Deal got 266K (1pm) and 236K (2pm). Sherri's mini-marathon averages 205K from 3-5pm. Apparently, The Newlywed Game does better late nights, but the afternoon block has had its up and downs.

Sunday afternoon started well with The $25,000 Pyramid with 243K and 207K in the noon hour. Deal or No Deal as usual on Sundays bombed with 150K (1pm) and 154K (2pm). Then...

    Karn (3pm): 123K, 223K (bomb)
    O'Hurley (4pm): 310K, 317K (good)
    Harvey (5pm): 464K, 529K (wow)
