What Game Show Classic Would You Like To See Back On DayTime T.V

Well me start by saying do ya'll remember the classic old school game shows we loved back in 1970's & 80's but let me stop beating around the bush what old school game shows would you like to see revamped & on daytime t.v & not on GSN,

My picks would be like this:

From the jack barry dan enright productions bubble

1.The Jokers Wild( A studio backdrop resembling as it was in the jack barry days & keep the "face the devil" bounus round) & everything else that made TJW a popular game show..

    2.Bullseye

3.Tic Tac Dough It was my favorite game show plus i didn't the(1990-91) version of TTD.

4.Hot Potato(hosted by the late bill cullen)

As From The Mark Goodson Bill Todman Library

    1.Blockbusters(US version)

    2.Super Password

    3.Tattle Tales

Those are my classic game show picks i'd like to see come to daytime t.v these days so tell me what would you like to see(classic game shows) on daytime t.v today & NOT ON GSN....

The Barry & Enright shows I could actually see working on something like CBS, Tic-Tac-Dough and The Joker's Wild more than the other two. As far as the Fremantle library, maaaaybe Blockbusters (thing is it was never really that much of a success here to begin with) and definitely not Super Password, but Tattletales would definitely work today.

In daytime I'd like to see another "Password" revival and Tic Tac Dough. Something like Tattletales/The Newlywed Game could get taken to far for daytime.

For syndication I'd like to see the following:

    Password
    Match Game
    Press Your Luck
Lingo (I would actually like to see this in syndication, but with the Woolery setting)

There are probably more but those are my picks for now.

I like those ideas. Better than some others that will probably come up on this thread.

But, we just had a primetime Password revival. I think networks should lay off that for now, and the next time it does get revived it will probably be in the BIG million-dollar format again. I know I said above I would like to see "Password" but now I'm giving more details. Match Game I'll pass on, at least for ABC, FOX etc. I would have love to have seen Match Game on TBS a few years ago. I really think that would have worked out well for them. Press Your Luck is also an OK idea, but I have a feeling with the popularity of Whammy! still GSN will revive Press Your Luck/Whammy! in the next five years.

For Lingo, I may regret saying this someday but since GSN isn't bringing it back I would like to see it in primetime as an hour show in a million dollar format, or at least a top goal of $250,000, eventually leading to a tournament for a million. I could come up with a dozen different ways on how this could be revived in primetime, but I won't now.

Lingo to me now is more of a primetime show, when GSN showed it at 8PM (where it could have done better at 6pm). It would do better in primetime than daytime, unlike "Millionaire", Pyramid or half-hour Deal or No Deal

Not to mention said Password revival was Screwed By the Network because CBS felt it wasn't targeting the right audience (read: teenagers and young adults), even though it did quite well in the ratings. That's why I said "not Super Password" up above, because I don't think it'll work on daytime television. CBS I don't think wants to do game shows anymore, ABC has a lot of success with reality shows and whatever the hell Wipeout is supposed to be, and NBC's The Voice is probably the only competition-type show the network has aired within the last few years that will be met with a decent amount of success. Fox... well, it could go either way to be honest.

My guess is if Password was to be brought back nowadays, either Fox or syndication would be its best bet, or maybe cable television.

GSN isn't bringing it back yet; remember nothing's been confirmed. As far as the million dollar format goes, it could potentially work, but I personally don't see Lingo as something the networks would want to pick up.

A show set up like Million Dollar Password could do well in a half-hour, with more gameplay, less chit chat and maybe a total grand prize of $100,000 or $250,000. MDP in 2008 was slow, and I can see how it got cancelled, unlike Catch 21 and 1 vs 100 (NBC)

    Match Game, definitely...

Card Sharks. But like the original Eubanks-era gameplay (with as few tweaks as possible), and not like the 2001 trainwreck.

2001...ugh. The Cash Cards are something GSN should concentrate on, and give out enough money for them (more than the Perry version) since it is an important part of the game if they were to make a remake

And what Alex said on Buzzerblog in that quote doesn't mean anything. GSN isn't just going to recreate ten more classic game shows. The classic revivals are The Pyramid and The Newlywed Game, so those are the two Alex and the press release are talking about.

Lingo was an 80's game show also, I think in daytime.
