    Weak spots

With the success of 5th Grader, Family Feud in primetime, plus Catch 21, Lingo, The $25,000 Pyramid and Chain Reaction in daytime, there are still many strong points on the GSN schedule that have really helped out ratings lately.

But now think, what are the weak/lowest-rated spots on the schedule that have been holding ratings down, and what could they be replaced with, with shows on the schedule now.

(Minute to Win It counts as a current GSN show)

I have my two bad slots on the schedule now and what they could be replaced with

*The Newlywed Game weekends at 11am and 11:30am; replace with seasons 2 and 3 of The Newlywed Game
*Deal or No Deal Sundays at 1 and 2pm; replace with either Pyramid (Osmond), 5th Grader or Minute to Win It

    Weekdays

12:30PM - Replace Lingo (Woolery) with Family Feud (Dawson)
1:00PM - Replace Deal or No Deal with Lingo (Woolery) / Pyramid (Osmond)

    Tuesday Block Schedule - 7PM - 9PM Newlywed Game / 10PM - Midnight Baggage
Friday Block Schedule - Word Game Night - 7PM Lingo (Woolery), 8PM Chain Reaction, 9PM Lingo (Engvall), 10PM Million Dollar Password

2:00PM - Replace Deal or No Deal with Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (Regis)
6:00PM - Replace Karn Feud (Saturday) / 5th Grader (Sunday) with Minute To Win It

Agreed. Dawson would do well at 12:30 with a new season, then Wheel at 11:30am possibly as a good lead in to Jeopardy!

    Another weak spot:

11:30am Chain Reaction weekdays; replace with another Super Password.

Super Password use to have the whole hour a few years ago I believe when GSN still had it leased. Keep the "new" run episodes at 11am, and then a random episode at 11:30am. Super Password has done well after The $25,000 Pyramid, and it could be a better lead in to Jeopardy!

I actually had that thought. I think that would work well. Also, people may think differently but the 9am hour is also a weak spot. It may not get better, but who knows. Right now I also consider 10am a weak spot as well. Just 10am.

    8-9am - Match Game
    9:00am - The $100,000 Pyramid
9:30am - Card Sharks (Eubanks) If they still have the rights or can get the rights.
10:00am - Card Sharks (Perry) Also if they still have the rights.
    10:30am - The $25,000 Pyramid
    11am-12pm - Super Password
12:00pm - Wheel of Fortune - It might work. Jeopardy could be a heavy quizzer for west coasters (like myself). Wheel could be better.
    12:30pm - Family Feud (Dawson)
1:00pm - Jeopardy! - Could do better there.
    1:30pm - Pyramid (Osmond)
    2:00pm - Lingo (Woolery)
    2:30pm - Lingo (Woolery)

Somehow all of those can be weak spots. Think about it. Woolery could do better at 2pm because, Catch 21 there gets 100-200K at least. Catch 21 at 4pm gets strong ratings. It should stay there. That's a more professional looking schedule.

    Weekends:
    9:00am - Lingo (Woolery)
    9:30am - Chain Reaction
    10-11am - Whammy!
    11:00am - Catch 21
    11:30am - Lingo (Engvall)
12:00pm - Deal or No Deal (both days)
1:00pm - Minute to Win It (both days)
2:00pm - Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? (both days)
    --
    Sundays:
12:00am - Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?
1:00am - Deal or No Deal
2:00am - Minute to Win It
3:00am - Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (Philbin)

Million Dollar Password, like M2WI had few episodes. But MDP had very few. There's reasoning behind this scheduling. Any questions, just ask.

9am isn't doing too bad before, and is not going to do much better with 150K averages, but I like someone's idea of Match Game at 9am again and Password Plus at 9:30am. Then, Catch 21 at 2pm always gets 200K+, and is what starts the mid-afternoon's high numbers through 4pm (unadvertised shows). Leave 2-4pm and beyond the same

On weekends, I've always liked Woolery at 9am better than P+. Then, leave 9:30am-11am the way it is right now. Catch 21 and Engvall Lingo are too early. At 11am just throw in some early episodes of GSN's The Newlywed Game (Carnie's episodes). Then, 12-3pm on Saturdays are probably the best daytime numbers all weekend not involving Feud. Million Dollar Password and Deal or No Deal do great Saturdays, but Sundays are a different story with DOND.

For Sunday late nights, considering we just had 5 hours of 5th Grader, no. DOND does well Sundays at midnight after 5th Grader, and then $25,000 Pyramid at 1 & 1:30am has had a good record so far.

No comparison. MDP has 12 episodes, and Minute to Win It has 68 episodes (69 with online episode). If Minute to Win It is a hit, then it should get the 1pm and 2pm slots on Sunday, and if not Minute to Win It, then 5th Grader.

    Each to their own opinion.

I just like getting my thoughts out there like anyone else of course.

Of course, and it gives something to talk about. It is a schedule making thread. I've heard MANY more ridiculous things, like Harvey Feud at 9am and bringing back classics from 8am til primetime that I've never heard of

They should take Karn and Lane (Chain Reaction) out from mornings. Karn has been there for a long time at 9:30am and it doesn't do squat. Same with Deal or No Deal at 1pm ET. And that's a reason why we mess with that part, as well as Karn and Lane.

Deal or No Deal has actually surprised me a few times in the past month at 1pm. I still feel Deal or No Deal is "worthy" of having a weekday slot. 1pm slot is good, and I have a feeling a couple people would be upset to get DOND cut back way more.

We could also have syndicated Deal or No Deal at 1:30pm, with another Lingo, or better Pyramid (Osmond)

Deal or No Deal has gotten stale, I think. Syndicated Deal I would like to see in a daytime slot on GSN though. That would be good.

    Ok how about this...

    12:00pm: Jeopardy!
    12:30pm: Lingo
    1:00pm: Pyramid (Osmond)
1:30pm: Deal or No Deal (syndie)
    2:00pm: Catch 21

    Just an idea

Syndicated Deal or No Deal hasn't been seen on GSN in six months now, and I would want it back somewhere. It still has the potential to do well, and it didn't do well back in the Winter since GSN already showed an hour of DOND
