What should GSN do to the schedule? Part 2

I think it's time for an updated version of this and a new poll. Here are the things people complain about on GSN.

-Too much Family Feud.

-Reality shows (were complained about when they were on GSN and they are coming back apparently.)

-Block scheduling, although that might improve some more with Minute to Win It coming aboard on Tuesdays. Have to see.

-Stale spots. For example, the 11:30am-2:00pm block on weekdays, and the shows from 11am-3pm on weekends, in my opinion. Although on weekdays the 11:30-2pm block is stale, I would also consider 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, 11:00am. GSN needs a new look I think.

Any other problems facing GSN feel free to add on.

Good to see the last thread go, and this one seems good.

To the poll: Family Feud deserves to get cutback a little bit, right now in its morning slots, but that's about it. Feud is a huge ratings-win right now for GSN. Some of its top slots may get replaced by The Pyramid, but only some.

Next up is for GSN to acquire more classic shows, more classic episodes, and of course more modern acquisition. Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Wheel of Fortune, even Who's Still Standing; anything would work right now for GSN. Then, new episodes of Match Game and Dawson/Combs Feud, and new shows like Card Sharks, Tattletales would do well weekday mornings. Anything to get ratings up around 9:30am, and then the 11am hour.

Block scheduling for now should stay. It started out rough, but modern acquisitions should help the primetime schedule out. We've seen massive success so far with 5th Grader and Feud in primetime, and Minute to Win It should succeed.

But, the schedule isn't as bad as what it was back in December when I made the previous thread. Mornings back then were a little better with Card Sharks, but P+ and SP add some variety. In January, Chain Reaction was getting taken away, and DWTS was added to the schedule. I think we've had nothing but improvements in 2012, besides some of the Dog Eat Dog slots. Now, we have the originals to focus on

Really, I love Family Feud in block schedule and watch it all the time. It's my favorite modern show on GSN right now. Some people would say it should be cut down some, which in a way, I agree but Family Feud is a good game show to play along with.

I can only think of two Family Feud slots that do poorly. That's the morning Dawson and Karn slots. Karn has to go. Then Feud will be down to 83 slots a week, and as the poll above says Dawson should get new episodes but at a later in the morning time slot.

Too few episodes, but may not be bad for a replacement if they take MDP off. But for now MDP does fine, so lets keep it.

Come on, it's always time for fresh material and MDP has been there for a long time. It's like keeping Millionaire for 9 years with too few episodes, which it didn't have but it's just an example.

It wouldn't hurt to try Who's Still Standing? at Noon and promote it some. But after awhile I would even get rid of IT. I guess that's how I would run a network. I would try not to rerun abuse stuff. Deal or No Deal is stale, Millionaire is stale and MDP just has very few episodes so why not try something fresh.

Who's Still Standing eventually would be good somewhere on the schedule, but Million Dollar Password isn't falling in ratings like 1 vs 100, and even DOND has. Just this weekend Million Dollar Password nearly matched the daytime schedule average, with 265K July 14th at noon.

I can see that's a joke. It's hard for any show at that time of day, also considering it's 9AM PT to get 300K. I think MDP is the highest rated show not just in the noon hour right now (against Jeopardy!, Lingo weekdays and 25K Pyramid Sundays), but in the past few years of all the shows that have aired around noon.

It could, seeing GSN's success of the modern version of The Newlywed Game. It's more possible than a show like The Price is Right coming to GSN
