    Official Olympics Discussion Thread

Technically, they've already started with early soccer play.

But here's where you discuss anything related to the Olympics. I can't be the only one here who watches this stuff religiously... Can I?

Im personally most excited about basketball. The usa team went 5-0 in the games before the olympics. It could be the 1992 dream team all over again

My favorite is Womens Gymnastics, so I'm looking forward to that!

I love the Equestrian events. I usually tune in for the Swimming too.

Have you all seen this? http://www.london2012.com/schedule-and-results/.

Gives you an idea of when each event might be airing.

I wonder if the swimming and diving events will be indoors, what with outside temperatures usually being around 65-70 degrees daily. The gold medal goes to the one who can avoid the icebergs in the pools.

So far NBC has the opening ceremony schedule scheduled for tonight at 7:30ET, then events all day tomorrow from 2:36am-6pm. Looks like the events tomorrow will be Swimming and later in the day Volleyball.

Hope you all enjoy them. I don't watch, don't care, and am in no otherwise interested in the Olympics.

I'm on and off during the Opening Ceremonies. Finally they are moving on to the countries coming out after these long performances.

I know we're a week away (according to a schedule I've seen) but I'm excited about wrestling because I hear Kurt Angle is going for the gold again (previously won in 1996). As the "only Olympic gold medalist in professional wrestling," does anyone have any updates as to when, and if, he will be competing?

I only watch the opening ceremonies on the Summer Olympics. I don't care about the Summer Olympics otherwise. I'm more into the Winter Olympics. I wish they had Baseball in the Summer one still.

Same. I'm curious if people favor the Summer or Winter Olympics.

Kurt Angle wrestled on TNA Impact two nights ago and he is scheduled to be on next Thursday. A few months ago, he decided not to try out for the Olympic wrestling team because he wasn't physically in good enough shape to compete. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/17695309

I prefer the Summer Olympics over the Winter. The games in the Summer interest me more than the Winter ones.

I'm watching the Women's Basketball game (USA vs Croatia) right now, and I am impressed with the defense from both teams. Offense was a little slow this first quarter for both teams, but seems to be picking up.

Mom and I watched a little bit of the equestrian stuff today. I literally had to explain to her what "dressage" meant.

It's a good thing that I've seen it before in person.

I prefer the Winter Olympics because I like the Bobsleds
