Mine too. I always liked the girls. Never liked the guys.

By the way, how about Phelps finishing 4th in the 400m? Too much pot, Mr. Phelps?

That's probably going to be one of the biggest shockers at least of this weekend, but it's still early in the Olympics

I wrote a post on LiveJournal on how much I hate women's gymnastics. Too much unnecessary prancing around on the floor (and the music is unnecessary as well), and I thought this was gymnastics - not a fashion show. Ladies, keep all of the sparkles and glitter to rhythmic gymnastics. The men's competition actually shows off their strengths.

I never liked men's gymnastics because, tbqh, one -- I can root for guys in other sports but for me, gymnastics always seemed out of place for guys, and two, their outfits show off their package too much, not to mention three -- bad music is pretty much a given with any sport. DWTS has music that would make cats caterwaul outside.

Why do I have a bizarre feeling by "Shows off their strengths" that you actually do mean number two on my list?

I'll shorten your post: They're show-offs (the women that is)

I only watch for the basketball. Team USA winning by at least 20 a game is entertaining. Although a little disappointed with Kobe and Lebron claiming the 2012 team could beat the '92 team.

I don't think the 2012 team could match up to the 1992 team, but they'll come close, and blew the other countries away in the games before the Olympics

How come you're trying to spin this off as something completely different? The men have at least three different events where they have to use their arms to keep them on top of the equipment. What do the women do? Dance around on the balance beam for no reason.

During the opening ceremony I liked the Queen Elizabeth jumping out of an airplane stunt. I think it was playing to the James Bond theme

Baseball and softball . . . I remember it being a big controversy when they removed softball and they should bring both back.

Thanks for the info. I watch TNA & WWE but there was no mention of him deciding not to try out for it. I just remember him making such a big deal about the decision to go for it he must've been too ashamed to announce that he was unable to do so due to injury. This explains why he's been appearing lately (obviously). lol

Apparently the reason is lost on you. . . . The beam is 4" wide and the performance has to do with balance. I don't mean to be rude but you appear to be hostile towards this sport since you don't like it. These athletes dedicate their lives to compete and I don't like reading that these events are pointless. If you don't like it, don't watch. But you don't have to show disrespect towards them. We need to show our support. @Lingofan97 was making a joke . . . prude and inappropriate, but still a joke (at least I hope).

Not sure you understand the points of my posts.

I took gymnastics for a few months when I was little (even if it was simple stuff). I know what you do on a balance beam. But when I see people just standing there doing little arm motions, that irks me. Same with the dance steps on the floor. If it has nothing to do with your sport, just don't do it. I could probably do those same things on a beam or a floor.

Flip on the balance beam. Tumble on the floor. That's okay with me. Little motions are what I can't stand.

okay, what you're now talking about is a simple matter of physical traits. Men generally have more strength but also most of it is in their upper bodies, so you'll be seeing men doing stuff with rings and stuff that requires strength to accomplish.

Women are more adept on feats of dexterity. That's why they're on a balance beam and their exercises are more based on being able to hold their balance. Most of women's strengths are in their legs, which helps with their ability to do things like be on the floor and the vault. They need to be able to take the landing with no problems at all.

That should clear it up. There's always a reason. I always figured it was much much harder for women to do what they were doing then the guys. There also is the whole package ordeal which repulses me.

And why are you looking at a guy's crotch to begin with?

Wouldn't that be hard to do now with the mlb and minor league seasons. To me its not a big deal that baseball/softball were taken away, and not a lot of countries are too good at it besides the U.S. I'll just watch the mlb games on my TV now
