At this point Dawson would bomb anywhere, even with a new lease. The only classics I could see doing well from 12-2pm are The $25,000/$100,000 Pyramid

I'll refrase my post from Casey's above. My posts would be longer and more detailed if GSN made there scheduling changes here, and also if GSN listened fully to what happened here the schedule would change every week

    I'm sorry, again FAIL.

GSN doesn't know until they try. They haven't tried Dawson in the afternoon since 2010 if I recall. He could do well at 12:30pm again, but we don't know. Come on, now we're just jumping the shark.

If Dawson didn't do well on Flashback Fridays, and bombs in early mornings, I don't think he'll do as well as even a show like Lingo. But 12:30pm might be worth a try. Who knows, it's GSN Programming

That was prime time. Where younger people would start watching. Somewhere around 12pm-2pm it could do well somewhere there. I still say 12:30pm.

I'd be very curious to see how Dawson would do in the noon hour. Prediction: It wouldnt be a success, but it wouldnt bomb. I still think Woolery proves better for now instead of Dawson. That time of day is due for a schedule shake-up, especially with DOND

Dawson used to air weekdays at 12:30PM, and I remember it having great numbers. In fact, I remember Deal or No Deal was already on at 1PM and there would be discussions on how DoND would lose half of it's lead in. As with any show, it had it's bad days and good days ratings-wise... but compared to early mornings it did really good.

Dug up some 12:30PM Dawson Ratings from the old boards... Saw a few individual numbers and as I mentioned in my last post - It definitely had it's good days and bad days, ranging anywhere from 150,000 to 300,000 viewers in a day. The averages are nothing spectacular, but they are consistent.

    Averaged 203,000 for the week of April 5 - April 11, 2010.
    Averaged 207,000 for the week of April 12 - April 18, 2010.
    Averaged 204,000 for the week of May 17 - May 23, 2010.
Averaged 217,000 for the week of June 28 - July 4, 2010. (Casey noted that this was the highest rated classic for the week)
    Averaged 196,000 for the week of July 5 - July 11, 2010.
    Averaged 216,000 for the week of July 26 - August 1, 2010.

Those 12:30pm numbers look pretty good, but I'd be curious to see if Dawson could do that two years later.

Then in 2010 the schedule got insane that time of day with Baggage that early...

    FAIL.

Anyway, It's the way GSN schedules their programs, and because they won't try Dawson in the afternoon, that's why it's on it's way to go.
Fail? Yeah, right. If you were the president of GSN and openly tried to run the network based on this board's suggestions, you would be relieved of your duties immediately. Come on, let's keep halfway close to reality here.

GSN should take people's comments into consideration though, as well as other networks. But I understand how networks work. They air trash, rerun abuse shows, same old same old.

I'm sorry, but let's live on planet Earth. The numbers from the Nielsen Company (and GSN's accountants) are what influence GSN execs. Otherwise, they won't be GSN execs for long. They probably shouldn't even read this board, much less listen to its suggestions.

Hey, I like posting around here. It's fun to argue back and forth. But I'm not loony enough to think David Goldhill is taking any of my comments seriously. I'd be surprised if he even reads them at all.

I can see Goldhill meeting with Amy Davis and the rest of the senior people. "Well, Casey Abell says we should do this..." And at that point the laughter reaches gale force.

That's how cable networking works. They rerun shows into the ground as much as possible to get ratings, and it keeps cable alive. And someone at GSN we all know reads these boards, since they take comments and threads down, but they don't look at our schedule instrutions

Wow at Harvey Feud. I have to say though, I still find it a bit worrisome that GSN can't get anything but Feud, 5th Grader and occasionally Baggage over 400K with some regularity.

Those are the two shows that are taking up GSN's best slots. Right now Catch 21 and Chain Reaction in late afternoons have seen 400K in recent weeks, and down the road The Pyramid and The Newlywed Game will do well in reruns.

We'll also see how Minute to Win It does on Tuesdays

Gotta agree with Casey; this board is small-time compared to the bigger picture. If they listened to this and other similar boards that say "Get modern stuff off of here and put on Joker's Wild, Tic Tac Dough, etc.", they'd be gone faster than a heartbeat. As much fun as it is to debate here, I'm not delusional enough to think I'll impact the schedule.
