Family Feud back to Southern California?

This must be a mistake. The latest Family Feud casting call says that this season is returning to California (no city named). I believe this is a mistake since Steve Harvey's third season has already started taping for the 2012-13 season long ago in Atlanta.

Yeah, I thought they'd stay in Atlanta as long as Steve was hosting, and I also thought they were wrapping up taping for the season *before* September so that Steve could do his talk show. Assuming this listing is accurate, it almost makes me wonder if there's a separate version of Family Feud in the works with a different host. Maybe GSN decided that they've had so much success with the show that they might as well produce their own version. But of course, this is just wild speculation on my part.

I doubt GSN would ever get to do their own version of Family Feud as long as new syndicated episodes are being made. If it is not a typo there are two different possibilities. The first is that they may be doing like Wheel and Jeopardy does from time to time by going to a different venue to film a few episodes. The second option is that with the syndicated Family Feud doing so well and the GSN re-runs also pulling in great numbers there could be a prime-time version in the works.

I just don't think two versions of Family Feud would be going at once in this day and age. If GSN was even thinking about producing their own Family Feud, we might know about it in the upfronts. We don't need two versions right now. GSN is having enough success from the reruns that are still in production, so we'll always have new "Feud" episodes from the Harvey version.

The RealityWanted Casting calls in the past have made mistakes with locations, times, etc., and this might be one of them

If there was a prime time version in the works I would think the media/we would know by now. It's July. Networks fall schedule is set and most are set with shows either as a contingency depending on how well the ones on the schedule do, or known mid season replacements.

If the version is just beginning its casting call then it probably wouldn't premiere until the second half of the television season, so around January after Christmas Break.

But once again I think this could just be a casting call location mistake

    FTFCasting Call:

    Shoots August in SoCal.

Maybe they're doing a week or two on the road, like Wheel of Fortune, and this casting call was for the shows that will be shot in CA.

That could be it. If it shot in August and a new version was going to be made of "Feud", besides the syndication one we would have known about it

Steve Harvey will do his TV talk show in Chicago, so it's not like every one of his shows has to be taped in Atlanta. They're just shooting some Feud eps in Southern California, that's all.

With Harvey hosting? Let's hope for a special celebrity episode. I'll have to see the actual episodes to believe it, or else its just a fib.

OK I'm clearly out of it--when did FF stop taping in Orlando and move to Atlanta?
    Down With Cablevision!

For Harvey's first season they were in Orlando, then for the 2011-12 season Feud moved to Atlanta for Steve's second season

Yeah, I'm sure Fremantle is lying about taping in Southern California. Why on earth would they lie about something like this? In fact, Fremantle has another casting call out for California contestants and audience members for all their game shows, and they mention Family Feud by name in the call. I guess they're "fibbing" in that call, too.

Steve Harvey is doing his last standup show live in Vegas tonight. If he can make it to Vegas for a show, he can make it to California to tape some Feud episodes.

Who knows. Something could be up. As long as Harvey is the host. I would start hating it if they stick guest-hosts on Family Feud like they do with "Millionaire" now
