Seems like Cullen hosted 1,000 good game shows. It's just that I consider game show Kings hosts that hosted shows that lasted for decades, including The Newlywed Game, Family Feud and Jeopardy!

He hosted more shows that lasted for decades than any other.

Also, he was less of a one-trick-pony single game show host like some of the other hosts of long-running game shows. Say that 5 times fast.
Bring High Rollers to GSN please!

Alright, I'll call it a day here. Since Culen hosted soooo many shows, very few or none failures depending on what you call a failure, he's in the top 2

Even I was never crazy about Carrie Ann Inaba either. I think a 2012 game show host like Jeff Suthpen (Brain Surge and the new Figure It Out) or perhaps even Peter Rosenberg (Hip Hop Squares) can do a better job as a game show host than Carrie Ann Inaba.

And that's fine. I shall ask you this to anybody here! Who do you consider as the first and foremost of game show hosts, especially on television. The one game show host that I consider as the first and foremost is Dennis James. He has hosted alot of game shows himself including the earliest television game shows that were aired on the long since defunct Dumont Televivison Network. Cash and Carry is an early example here. Dennis James, who hails from my home state of New Jersey, is also responsible for brining back The Price Is Right to television. There is that pitchfilm that is now posted on YouTube. Dennis James you might recall hosted the Nightime Edition of The New Price Is Right from 1972 to 1977. He was not able to do the CBS Daytime Edition so he recommended Bob Barker as host. Dennis James is also responsible for Janice Pennington as model for The New Price Is Right. This thread is two weeks strong and I would like to thank everybody for keeping this thread strong. Let's keep it going strong and have a great weekend everybody.

I'm not sure if I could answer that. It goes back too far in time even for me. Bob Barker and Bob Eubanks as you mentioned come to mind

I will be 42 on September 9th so it gives you an idea here. I talk stuff before 1970 anyhow. I just read about it through various sources.

    STOP insulting Cullen.
    Now that's a stupid analogy.

Just pointing out that I don't think Cullen is the game show King of Kings, though he's pretty far up on the list

Maybe I can come up with something better here. September 4th is the 40th Anniversary of The Price Is Right on CBS as they will air a 40th Anniversary Special on that day. This might come up as a different thread somewhere else, but we can still discuss it here. I heard they will invite the winning contestants from its history of this legendary game show. My only guess here is if they can find the first big winner from its first show as The New Price Is Right from September 4, 1972. That contestant's name is Paul Levine. I wonder if he will ever appear or at least come on as a surprise. Stay tuned for those details.

Great. I'll actually be home to see this, being that I took off the day after Labor Day. Prepare for GSN's ratings to fall during 'TPIR Death Hour' that day

For the meantime I would like to get back to the core of this thread here. If GSN had different hosts for Grand Slam back in 2007, who would you had considered? Instead of the mentioned hosts up above I think Matt Vasgersian and Bil Dwyer would had done a better job as hosts than Dennis and Amanda. Both of these guys had hosted shows on GSN. In respective order it was that World Series of Blackjack and Extreme Dodgeball. You can now state your comments here. Have a great day.
