Even I know this one... WCVB channel 5.

I'm not sure what was wrong with that guy who complained about Wheel and Jeopardy being taken off of a station. He made it seem like those shows were being cancelled.
To paraphrase a song, the guy in question had ninety-nine problems, and that was just one.

Before I moved back in November, my cable company actually picked up WWLP. Made for some good moments in the past, especially when I missed Jeopardy at 7 on CT's ABC affiliate. Now I switch from Comcast to COX and I don't get the channel anymore.

Yeah, I don't think you can limit it to just a number, especially that low

I was doing some internet searching just wondering where the local station that will be airing WOF/J here was moving their 7pm and 7:30pm shows or if they were getting rid of them altogether and I ran across something. Apparently this deal for WOF/J has been agreed upon for a year as the article I read was from 2011 saying the show was moving there this fall. So, in essence if Scripps made this decision over a year ago, I am sure deals are in place by now for all the affected markets of where the show was ending up going.

What I don't understand is...why? Why would Scripps want to remove two of the highest-rated syndicated shows in the nation from its stations? It's very hard to launch new programming, especially in the highly competitive prime access slots, as they will be going against established shows like Judge Judy, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory and likely Wheel and J! wherever they move to. I imagine that people in those affected markets aren't too thrilled. What about a potential backlash?

I dont think anyone who watches in the potential markets care as long as the show airs somewhere in the same timeslot. I guess they feel they don't have much to lose. It's the parents company's shows and they are being forced on their stations. The stations heads have to abide and one would assume they do not have to worry about their heads rolling when ratings and possibly ad rates suck because this wasn't their decision. What will suck however is if these stations are axed in a year or two and then those same station managers are left to try and fill time with something else after losing their two ratings winner over this potentially bad idea.

Very good point. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune still pull in very strong ratings for syndicated game shows. Why would any station replace those two with new shows, especially in that time of day? It's hard to compete with local news, Access Hollywood, TMZ, Entertainment Tonight, etc. Scripps will not pull in these big ratings like Jeopardy and WOF
