Well, here's a link to an unsold pilot with Bill. Run for the Money.

Gee this man was amazing. Been watching a couple episodes of his Card Sharks

I got a question for you TheKid, when Rafferty was on "Real People", didn't he also appear on Tattletales?, If so, was it with the orange scoreboards or with the green scoreboards?

I'm going to miss Bill Rafferty. 2012 has been a sad year to be a game show fan unfortunately. I always thought Bill was one of the more underrated game show hosts and I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me. He was very funny, quick, and friendly with the contestants. He was a competent host and a very nice guy. He should have deserved more than the shows he got. Every Second Counts, the syndicated version of Card Sharks and Blockbusters didn't last more than a year. He deserved better. He will be missed. RIP Bill. I wonder what he was up to after he retired from hosting game shows?

Most recently he hosted a program called Retired and Wired for Retirement Living TV, beginning in 2007.

Perhaps you should practice what you preach, Steve.

Couldn't find anything about Bill Rafferty on Tattletales. But right at the beginning of that March 16, 1987 Super Password ep, it's mentioned that he appeared on Wordplay with Bert Convy. Wordplay was that very short-lived 1986-87 game show on NBC. Well, darned if Convy and Rafferty didn't appear on the show together, if this Wikia article is to be believed.

Rafferty also appeared on Scrabble with Tom Kennedy, as you can watch on YouTube (video quality is very so-so).

The show's web page has some video of Bill, much older than in his game show days, of course. The voice is almost eerily the same.

It's correct (I have it)....I'll post the episode (on YT) if I can find the tape.

Good to see he is still doing something, but I'm surprised in recent years he never hosted a game show again, at least in the 2000's. He was still young, being only 63 at the time this show started

Though he did appear older and chubbier - perhaps due to his age. Plus he wore glasses when he hosted Retired & Wired in 2007. But yeah, I think he looked better when he hosted game shows.

BTW, is Retirement Living TV planning on airing a marathon of Retired & Wired in memory of Mr. Rafferty?

R.I.P. Bill Rafferty. Definitely one of the underappreciated hosts (though he started to get his due after GSN brought back his shows in 2005) - too bad that one of his shows didn't really catch on. He had a great personality and sense of humor.

I'd absolutely love it if GSN could dust off some Rafferty Card Sharks and Blockbusters for this occasion, along with his Super Password and Family Feud appearances. Not getting my hopes up though.

Well, dub. That typically happens with everybody. From his appearance on Card Sharks in 1986 to the GSN Live interview in 2008, I would expect to see him age

Nothing up on GSN's Twitter about Rafferty's passing yet. It surprises me since they just aired his Card Sharks three years ago

Maybe it's because he died on a Saturday and the staff involved in Twitter are not working on the weekends.

But then again, Richard Dawson died on a Saturday also, and a tribute wasn't announced until at least Monday, if I recall.

Also, come to think of it, wasn't there a user on these forums who says he is related to Bill Rafferty? He doesn't come on here anymore.

This isn't a big deal at all, but its not that hard to just log on Twitter. It doesn't take that much to do. But come tomorrow I'm sure we'll hear something

If we don't hear anything tomorrow, we can safely declare that GSN is not going to do anything to honor the late Bill Rafferty, due to rights issues.

You guys are so negative. Just 'cause GSN doesn't post anything on Twitter doesn't mean they're not going to do something about his passing. I can shoot a quick little tweet out to them so you can be pleased. Okay?
