For me, I would give it an A, because it stays true to the original and is better than the 2002 version.

GREAT DAY FOR HOCKEY! PENGUINS!!
Only one TV in the house and it's in Match Game mode, I'll have to wait until it reruns again to watch it.
Definitely an A. The only two issues I really have are minor. One, I don't necessarily care for all the zooming in on the board when they introduce the categories. Two, no returning champions.
Other than those two things, I find this to be a great and solid revival. Definitely one of the best GSN originals in quite a while and it will be appointment television. Mike does a good job also. I'd say this is practically the best version since 1988.

Solid A. The gameplay is as close to the classic as possible, I like the building jackpot for 7 out of 7 (makes that more important than ever), Mike Richards is good, and I love the classic sound effects. Definitely the best GSN original I've seen.

At least an A- so far, one show in. I really enjoyed it. Great to see what they've done (and smartly not done) with it. I hope this lasts (with the Clark versions on mornings and late nights).
I really enjoyed the show and it was much better than the 2002 Donny Osmond version. I think they should put in the Mystery 7 and 7-11 on the category board in each round. I hope that it will last for a long time.
A- (But I know some episodes will be an A)
Reason for that is, for the beginning there was some contestant/celebrity dancing which I felt a bit corny. But, the set is great. All the players in that episode were great, and everybody scored above a 17 (so no huge flops there).
I'll do a full review when the official thread opens today...
I agree (X gets the square). This version kicks Donnymid out the front door! Mike Richards is a little stiff as host, but I'm willing to give him a chance to get into a ":groove" and come into his own. I think Dick Clark, Bill Cullen, Bob Stewart and original announcer Bob Clayton are smiling from up above.
Zooming in on the Pyramid shaped TV Screen I see as a "cool effect". The Screen shaped as a triangle, with the categories on the screen is very cool, and not having individual TV Screens. And, the no returning champions doesn't matter to me. It seems like they had a sizable casting call (80 contestants) where they didn't feel like paying out tons of money to one person.Originally Posted by matchgame74fan
Some complain it's too close, but I don't. Some say it needs to be deliberately different. Building up the Winners' Circle Bank is different, and the tiebreaker round, which is very cool is a great change.Originally Posted by wayne3924
It's cable programming. GSN can't afford too much more than this. They gave out $18,000 to one contestant last night, and the other walked out with $500. Plus, they already give out money for the 7 out of 7, so that's enough. Save the nice prizes for The Newlywed Game.Originally Posted by blujay

And Catch 21 & Deal or No Deal also had a bunch of gimmicks. I doubt we'll see much more of this on The Pyramid.Originally Posted by phimat37
So far, I would give it a solid A. If it's not *quite* as great as the 70's/80's versions (an awfully lofty standard to live up to), it does come very close, and can only get better as it goes along. The show is very well produced, faithful to the classic versions while still looking and feeling new, and has gameplay that mostly sticks to the what made the classic versions so great while putting a new twist on scoring that I like. Mike Richards does have some room for improvement as host, but overall he's doing well so far. I think that Dick Clark and Bob Stewart are smiling down from Heaven after seeing this version. Job well done.
The last part I agree with. They are looking down with similes, while Donny Osmond is asking hinmself "What happened here?"
