The last five nights of the conference semis were Eastern Conference games. I think they didn't want the A team to do five games in five nights. Although Pierre jumped in and covered some of the NJ/PHI series.

On train back from NYC this evening, passed through Newark -- Prudential Center (Devils arena) is about two blocks west of Newark train station. There was a big electronic sign on the side of the building facing the railroad which said "New Jersey Devils - 2012 Eastern Conference Champions".

I stand corrected about Emrick. I didn't realize he had retired from Devils. I'll go back and edit out some of my earlier comments about him.

    Games:

    Playoffs:

The Flyers have won their second in a row! The Flyers have won their second consecutive Stanley Cup! And the whole Flyers' bench is off the ice!"
Wonder what ever became of Jim Lorentz?.....quite a "plate appearence" with that bat!!.....still love the memory of Don Earle interviwing a Flyer at the old Garden ( Clarke??) and offering to fight all the Bruin fans in the stands who were hecklng the ex-Bruin announcer !! God, I remember as a kid getting a Bruin game on the UHF Rabbit Ears where Earle was calling the game. Could hardly see it, but could hear the game ...was a Bruin-Seals game from the Garden. Bruins used to show their home games frequently because every game was a total sellout with Orr and company. Even the AHL Braves used to get 10 K plus like the Phantoms did early 2000 or so.Still can't believe that Bruin team that had something like 121 points got knocked out by the Habs in the first round that year.

The Phillies could use Jim Lorentz to hit those high pitches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Lorentz

I remember getting Bruins' games on the radio with Bob Wilson broadcasting solo on WBZ. That station came in clearer than whatever the Rangers' station was with Marv Albert and Sal Messina.

All that stuff about bandwagon Pittsburgh fans made Pens management so happy to tap into that need for everything hockey that they are giving tickets to the 2012 NHL draft away for free. (pause) Oh wait.... :P I'm not going, mostly because I'd rather be working and making an honest buck, plus I'd probably fall asleep - I prefer the NFL draft to anything else.

I was going to say... The NHL draft is always free to the public. Then I noticed the tongue sticking out. But still...

The NFL Draft? Oh yes, the one that takes about 5 days for 3 rounds.

"With the faw-teenth pick in the two-thousand-twelve N-B-A Draft, the Pittsboigh Pipuhs select Sidney Craws-by from Rim -- Rim-mouse -- the Quebec Mayjuh Juniyuh Hockey League."

LOL I think you'd have to go to Leaveland, The Mistake By The Lake, if you'd want basketball. Chances are there's a reason why there's no basketball. I just don't think Pittsburgh can support four teams.

Yeah...I live in South Jersey, but been to Pittsburgh so much, that isn't even close...
Sounds more like Southern Boston....the REAL city of multiple English dialects !!!.Really, you probably have something like 9 different variants alone in Boston.
