No way could I make it to 3OT last night. I think I was trying to nap during the first one.

I only made it through two periods, just like I will tonight, Sunday, Tuesday, etc., because of the late starts and the longer commercial breaks. But, DVR/VCRs do come in handy.

And Dale Rolfe is still seeing double after Schultz whipping....

FWIW, here was my predictions for rd 2. Family problems have sort of kept me busy,,,,Flyers in 6, Rangers in 6, Blues in 7, Preds in 6.......now, I obviously have not given the Coyotes enough credit. Thought they would be odd team out of Pacific foursome. They about to advance to the semi's....
I did think Kings would beat Canucks, but I thought Blues had better defense. They don't....they actually need Mike Liut in goal....or Jacques Plante....or Glenn Hall...

I am a bit surprised Flyers are down, but I have seem so many teams come back from 2-1 and 3-1 that I am convinced the better team ALWAYS wins 4 games in a series.

As far as Pens, Shero has to decide what to do with the core. Fleury was...well, awful. Didn't think he had that in him. But Pens defense needs serious reshuffling. I have constantly said over and over Staal is the best overall Pen player. They better lock him up...he is free after next year. Seriously, they have overvalued Kunitz and Kennedy, giving them good money. Should pay Staal.....don't be shocked if Pens consider trading Malkin or Crosby if team flounders next post season. Team core is still on rising side of curve, but chemistry may have to be changed. Check out Pitt Post Gazette if you don't believe me.Multiple articles on direction with players Pens may have to move/keep...including the big guys.

Goalies win Cups.....means Quick and Smith are guys who can win a Cup along with Lundqvist.BTW.... Has ANYONE ever seen a team BLOCK shots like the Rangers do since, well, 1980 or so?

Tough tough loss for Caps last night. That is a very close series which is going to turn on one or two plays. But Rangers still need to win one more.

I think the Devils are going to win their series. From what I have seen in the first four games, they are faster than the Flyers and their good defense, penalty killing. and goaltending will win out over Philly's questionable goaltending.

I did get to end of 3 OT game last week (ended at 12:14 AM Eastern). As a comparison, I did not make it to end of 5 OT game between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in 2000 playoffs -- fell asleep between 4th and 5th overtimes just after 2 AM that night (I see it was posted that the anniversary of that game was last week).

All I have to say is: I'm glad the Devils did what the Pens couldn't. Way to go for them. Send the most rule breaking team full of smart mouthed, aggressive, obnoxious and naive, fat, quite simple minded pretend greatest fans ever, but yet hated by pretty much everyone except Philadelphia and Bucks county back to a late draft pick - and no Cup. And that holds for the players, too. Let's just say there ain't a Pens fan who feels even 10^-4950 percent sorry for them. This is for the entire group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMvqPffzDMQ.

Auf wiedersehn, y'all. Hope your smart mouthing learned you a trick or two.
